This really frosts my shorts. If there is EVER a time when eBay really owes you the return of the FVF, it's when someone has been NARU'ed. It just happened to me. Granted it's only a $6.50 FVF, but still, it pisses me off.

So, I will sell the cell phone for the THIRD time now. I get roughly 50% deadbeats with cell phones; makes me wonder why I bother.

Claude...Go back and try it again. You did something wrong when you filed. If the deadbeat is NARU, the FVF refund is supposed to be issued immediately, the same as for bidders in countries you don't ship to.

I have a question on cell phone-is there a cell phone out there which comes with X number of minutes which never expire, you just keep it in the glove dept and use it in road emergency.Once the x minutes are used up,I just throw the phone away.
If there is such kind of phone, what is it called?? and how much??
I dont own a cell phone but someone has advised me to keep me like that in my car just in case!!!!!!

I'm not a cell phone expert, but I think any cell phone, with or without a service plan, can always call 911.

I've seen ads for cell phones marketed to the old and infirm, which are relatively inexpensive per month, but have a high per minute charge. Their intended use is somewhat like what you're referring to. I don't know of any purely disposable cell phones though; I guess a pay-in-advance phone comes closest.

<<Buyer actions reported by seller: The buyer has not responded>>

That's not what Ebay wants to hear in this case. They will try to process it as a regular NPB. You want to check the box that says the buyer is no longer registered. It will then be processed in an entirely different manner and you should receive immediate credit. If they closed the dispute, I don't know if you can open it again or not. Won't cost anything to try.

Sparkz,

They weren't NARU when I filed the action. I'm going to call tomorrow. I don't care so much about the $6.50, but what if this had been a very expensive item? It's not fair that I have to be psychic about their NARU status to get my FVF back.

Have had winning bidders who were
Naru'ed after my auction closed and never paid. Since they were still registered at the time they bid, I just had to wait 8+ days after I filed to get FVF refund. I did get it from Ebay, by the way.

Although I have always been able to get my FVF back before they became NARU, I know there is a way to get an instant FVF credit from a NARU member. Admittedly, Ebay has made this process very difficult. It's a regular minefield going through it. One small oversight and you forfeit your FVF. Ebay doesn't like to give up those fees once they get them in their greedy little hands.

ANSWER: I called eBay; they've had a bug introduced recently and they're refunding FVF (the bug is now fixed).
