Wow! that's great she got that much for it! ... I think I've seen those go for 300-500$, but she was surely on a special "mission" for her little one. So maybe that is why the bids were so generous.

WOW! But you know what? If money were no object, I'd pay that for that tree! It's even more beautiful than the silver ones with the rotating lights!
I remember when they first came out! When my family made the annual tour of town to look at xmas decos,we parked in front of the houses with the aluminum trees to ooh and aah and to watch the colors change. I always have secretly wanted one

Excuse my scepticism, but I've heard alot of hard luck stories in my time. Sellers feedback tells me that she's not a good seller or buyer.

That sale should make her Christmas merrier. Hope her little one gets well soon.

I have a 6 foot silver one to list and when I did some research, I found that aluminum trees are doing great this year and I must say this one is exceptional. I think I saw one go for over $5000.00 - the photos were gone so I couldn't tell what it was like but I think it was a 7 foot pink one? I still want a feather tree but I can even afford a Martha Stewart reproduction one????

Her daughter has been sick since Auigust but she just bought the tree but can't put it up because she..what?...will be living at the hospital even after her daughter gets out?????
Scam. These trees sell high and always have and it's very tacky to use a child(real or imagined) to get more bids.

If you look at all of the Questions to Seller that she put on that listing, she refers to a webpage about her daughter that was diagnosed with brain cancer in early February 2005 ... the pictures of her daughter along with the story at that website, really do tell the whole situation they have faced all year.
Poor sweet little girl. ... reminds me a little bit of Cheryl cbleve's niece's son, Ryan.

The aluminum trees sell high because they are fairly rare. They were only made for a short period of time then discontinued. They were supposed to be used with a color wheel, but people started stringing lights on them. Kids and adults started getting electrocuted and houses started burning down when the aluminum needles started creeping into the light sockets.

i can't believe someone would pay this kind of $ for a *Christmas* tree...and one that's hazardous to boot. i'm amazed...and well, kind of saddened, when that kind of money could be spent on more lasting things or given to a worthy cause. just my $0.02 worth.

I don't like people 'using' their children for bids either - but when you have a sick child like this - you do what you have to keep financially stable and get the child the treatment they need.
I am thrilled for her. The daughter is absolutely precious, with the most gorgeous eyes. Here's her website that was mentioned in the Q&A section:
