A customer bought a sterling silver dragonfly cuff bracelet from me for $31. There was over 20 grams of sterling silver in the bracelet. It was a large, but very lacy and delicate bracelet (that could be seen in the photograph). Well, she just emailed me insisting that it's not sterling silver because there's no mark and thats it's flimsy and not well made. INO, after bidding it up to $31, she feels she paid too much money for it.
I tested the bracelet and it is sterling silver. It's not flimsy, it's delicate. To be heavy silver, the bracelet would have cost a small fortune because of it's size (it's a cuff) and would have been heavy to wear. Geesh, the bracelet was 2" wide.
She has asked for a good portion of her money back or wants to return the bracelet. I first offered her the bracelet at my cost. But, after searching and finding that the bracelet sells anywhere from $39.99 to $89.99, I think I've changed my mind and would like to have the bracelet back so I can resell it.
Would it be wrong of me to change my decision? Should I refund postage? The item was exactly as I described it so I don't know if this warrants a refund of postage.

Okay, maybe I'm having a bad morning, but I've decided I want the bracelet back. They paid with a money order (and late I might add) so I'm not worried about a PayPal charge back. I've decided I'm not giving things away and I'm also not refunding postage. I've asked her to return it to me Priority Mail with DC like I sent it to her and once the item comes back undamaged, I'll send her a check. What changed my mind? I've decided to be a bitc* today. LOL! I may end up with a neg once this is all said and done, but who cares? It's been well over a year since I've had a neg and it's probably about time. So, my feedback will go down to 99.8.

Time to grow your business!!!
Dear Madam,
I must aplogize, I am a new employee at cblev sales, Ms Blev reminded me that company policy is we do not negotiate the price of an item after it is sold.
However when the item is returned to us we will gladly refund the purchase price.

Careful, Cheryl, if you keep channeling me like that you'll end up with a rep for being hard-hearted and mean-spirited.
Not that it matters, but I agree with your decision. There probably is a mark on the item but the design is so ornate it could be really hard to find.

Cheryl, it is obviously buyers remorse. She paid $31 for the same style bracelet that your competition is consistently selling for $24.
You auction looks fine. I wonder if she confused your auction with one of the others that she had bid on? Their's says the bracelet is marked 925.
Write her back and tell her Halloween is over and you don't have time to deal with a witch. I personally would not make a refund.
But yes, if you do decide to refund, make her pay for return postage.

Thanks, Fluffy. When the item comes back (if it does), I'm going to use my loupe (notice I spelled it right, LOL) and go over it with a fine toothed comb. You are right about it being ornate and the mark could be there somewhere.
She bid the bracelet up to $31. Still not a bad price for 21 grams of Sterling Silver.
Remorse? Yes, I think so.
