I have an auction ending tonight. The high bidder reached the reserve price. Unfortunately her feedback is a whopping 1. I looked at her comments and she has purchased three items with one negative comment. The item she purchased on that auction was the same item she is high bidder on my auction.
I think she is going to make a complaint about my piece and send the item back to me, which will probably be the other item she purchased from someone else. I will put her on my blocked bidder list, but I don't think it will work if she has already bid.
I will be putting a hidden mark somewhere on the piece. I will be purchasing signature confirmation myself too.
Is there anything else I should be doing to protect myself? Everyone is so clever here, any ideas? Thanks

What did the negative say?
Not knowing more about the item and the feedback, all I can offer is that you can always cancel her bid and ban her, but it might well keep the item from selling (past the reserve). How close is the second place bidder?

yes,you can stop selling on Ebay and start bidding.
You can become a fortune teller or a mind reader.
You can ship an empty box, since no matter what you do,she is not going to like it.

Might be she really wants the item but wants one in better condition and has no intention of doing a swap on you. It could happen
Just make sure you mark your item in several places and then don't worry about.
**Long story** skip it if you want
A few months ago I had a similar thing happen.
2 bidders ran a HL Orange tree bowl up to over $100. This bowl sells normally sells for under $40 so I checked out the buy ID's. Top bidder was a newbie, had bid on every orange tree bowl on Ebay, had won 4 of them exactly like mine, had also won about 120 auctions in the 20 or so days since she registered. Needless to say, I was a little freaked about shipping the bowl. She paid instantly with Paypal.
I kept expecting the email requesting a return, never came. I expected a chargeback from Ebay about a credit card fraud, never came. Then I found out what was really going on.
Her Mom had died. Mom had Grand-maw's Orange Tree bowl. Everyone wanted it. My buyer had it, so to quiet the cousins, she bought them bowls! Looks like she spent over $800 to get her cousins off her back. AMAZING!

Is the item something she would want more than one? Is it something she might give as a gift? If so, maybe that's why she's bidding on more than one.
