I have to say that postcard buyers are the MOST honest folks in the whole ebay community.

I got this email today:
Hi, Mary Ann.
I mailed check #XXXX for $XXX to you on Oct 11; and I received the postcard shortly afterwards. But my check hasn't cleared the bank yet. Has the check been misplaced or perhaps you don't make deposits too often? Please let me know for sure that you've received the check and plan to deposit it soon.
Thank you,

My answer:
Dear Ellen - Thanks for the followup. It is true that I tend to accumulate checks before making a deposit - my husband's salary is direct deposited and with the handy debit card, I just don't end up going to the bank very often! I went on vacation on Nov 4th and I know I deposited all checks on the 3rd. Your check should have been among them. It should have cleared by now. Unfortunately I don't keep a ledger of checks included in the deposit (just the amount) and there are other $XXX checks in that deposit.) I don't know what could have happened otherwise, unless I accidently discarded it with the envelope. If you find it still hasn't cleared next time you check, and you feel so inclined, I would appreciate it if you would resend payment (less postage of course.) I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you and appreciate your honesty.
Mary Ann

I recently had a buyer email me that the tube amplifier I sent him was packed well, but that nevertheless damage had occurred to some of the tubes. I offered to replace the tubes and asked him whether he would like me to send him replacement tubes or money sufficient for him to purchase them.

He replied that he had always intended to replace the ones with the amp for others that he preferred, and that he was just providing feedback for the packing. Since there are believers in taking tubes out and shipping separately, and others who believe in leaving the tubes in but protecting them with strong cardboard, it was informative.

There ARE honest buyers on eBay, and all 300 of them deserve kudos

I had a buyer who had purchase over $100 worth of craft books. They never arrived, and I offered to refund the money, but she would have none of it, and left me positive feedback. Over the next couple of months I managed to purchase replacements and mail them to her.It is people like that that help compensate for the ones who are ignorant and impatient, and leave negs far too quickly.
