I bought 2 pieces of art yesterday at an estate sale. They are designs made from butterfly wings! Each is a circle on a dark background, The design measures about 16 inches across. The entire piece is approx. 18 inches by 18 inches
Would this be Folk Art, Mixed Media or just Other Art? I don't usually het into art but these were marked at $30.00 each on Saturday & yesterday I got both for that.

Sanmar, give us a pic. If they are Victorian, you have yourself a find! They might also be Philippino which are not quite as popular.

Looks like they will find it in any category. Highest price seller was listed in insects, lol.

Geez, if I'd known that, I would have chopped up my ex-husband and made artwork out of him.

They sound really interesting! I think I would list under butterflies. I think there's a name for the study of them, or something.

fluffy- I had one of them also. Raid would have been too easy.

Sanmar, I would stay away from the art categories - I have never done well with a listing in art - but if I change the category to Antiques or Collectibles - it does so much better.

It sounds like you made a real find - let us know how it does.

My first thought, honestly, was why did you not take a close-up photo of the wings ...

but, another subject, when i DID click on your close-up and saw that link to "Dealio", this IS the first time I've clicked ONTO that ... it truly *does* try to lead your interested buyers, away from your listings, and on to other peoples listings that have the same or similar items ...

Dealio is baaaaaad!
