LOL just wondering if any of you gets one cold hand -----your mouse hand. Mine is freezing , I bet there is 20 degrees difference in my hands. Going to have to start wearing electric warmer glove on my mouse hand. Maybe I'll look on ebay.

Somebody here, about a year ago--was it Cheryl? Or? had been given something to keep her mouse hand warm. Let us know what you find.

Irked,
Are you sure it is cold from using the mouse? I had Carpal Tunnel surgery last year and before that my right hand was cold and numb during a lot of the day. Had to grab a pencil in my fist and type with that. After the surgery I had no more numbness but my right hand is still often colder than my left. I assume it is a circulation problem.
Maybe one of those fingerless gloves would help. I assume that you also use the keyboard with that hand so a mitten would not work.

Irked, just buy yourself a cheap pair of jersey knit gloves and cut the finger tips off.
You might also want to find some peppermint or helichrysum oil and make a diluted mixture to spritz on the glove.
Peppermint is good for circulation. Helichrysum will help correct any nerve irritation.
I'll be happy to provide more info about the oils if you need it.

Because it's cold in my office during the winter time (I have two walls of windows), I have a ceramic heater under my desk. It warms the desk and my mouse hand stays warm! If the area where your desk is is warm, it could be a circulation problem. Pay attention to the way you hold your mouse or the position your arm is in when using it. I tried using both hands once to see what the problem was and no matter what hand I used, the hand holding the mouse was cold.

I wear fingerless glove on that hand, during cool and cold weather.
It's just the cheap knit gloves that I snip the fingertips off of. ... works for me.

I did that last year. Worked great. Now the heater not only keeps my hand warm, my feet are nice and toasty as well. I just can't run the heater and the microwave at the same time. Pop, goes the breaker and then I have to feel my way around a dark basement to fix the breaker. Spooky!!!!!!!!!!!!! We've been keeping the heat at 68 since the bills are so high. Now, my office is the warmest spot in the house.

No carpal tunnel but may be my mouse pad needs replacing it has a pad for wrist and it may be pressing on veins causing poor circulation. The pad is old and probably not as soft as it use to be. I am cold natured and YEP my office is like a refrigerator. Going to put a heater in here and see if that helps. I refuse to turn up whole house heating due to high cost of heating bills I fear. I also got a glove and used it last night but too early to tell if that will help. Didn't cut fingers out but should ---felt weird. LOL
LtRay what about the oils? Certainly like to hear about them.
Will let you know how all this works.

That topic kept me wondering if you used mittens on those little mouse hands? If not, how do you get their little fingers in the gloves???
Are you digits warmer now?
Sorry I did not reply sooner about the oils. I'll post about the oils over on the RT.

Of course Ralphie, being of the "canine persuasion," has had no end of trouble with a traditional "mouse..."
Fortunately there's:

I remember that post about keeping your mouse hand warm, can't remember who it was either, but do remember what her husband suggested or did for her.
Use a heating pad for a mouse pad. I tried it & it works great. If it has a vinyl cover it would work as is, or if not you could just put your mouse pad over the heating pad. Keep it on low & it won't get too hot. Of course do not forget to turn it off when not in use. I keep a post-it on the light switch to remind me.
Since the heating pad is much larger than a mouse pad it puts heat all around your hand keeping it nice & warm.

Ltray I had only one day with no frozen fingers it was bcause I put an area heater in my office. Weird. I had used one of those things you put in microwave that heats up and you wrap it around hurting body part. It has small pellets in it and IT didn't even keep my hand warm. I placed my wrist wrapped in it at mouse no luck and even put it over the entire mouse hand hard to navigae LOL that didn't work. I think it was worrisome more than help. Like the heating pad idea maybe I could place that over hand instead of under mouse.--make me a heating pad tent. Hey maybe I could get rich makng them and selling them on ebay. LMAO ---Oh they would have to be the faux fur look of course like the pet carriers etc.
Did I miss something what did you mean post it to RT. that another board or something. Guess I am kinda out of loop. LOL.
That foot click was interesting but I am spastic enough with my hands, can just see where I would be with the foot click thingy. hehehe
Gloves made a little difference but I found heater in room the best, course the sweat from roasting makes keyboard subject to drowning. Kidding.

bjboswell, yes, a good idea that really works.
It's miserable sitting at a computer with an ice cold hand & if I were you I would get one for my lap & big enough to cover my knees too. I hate to be cold.

McJane what a great idea!! I was going to suggest getting a kitten (mine thinks my mouse pad is his "bed" and so did my big kitty when she was small enough to fit there) but I guess the heating pad would be cheaper
