The month of October was my worst month ever for NPBs. All of them are new bidders (0-5 fb) and just about all of them are now NARUd. November is even worse. Has anyone else noticed it? Could it be from all of the advertising that Ebay has been doing? I love new bidders because they drive the prices up, but what good is it if they don't pay?

Bizzy I know what you mean about new members... last night I sold a coach handbag to a person who jumped in at the last min and had a neg 1 rating. I held my breath sent the invoice with a very clear message about my post auction "rules" within 30 min she had paid with paypal! I have to say I was surprised but grateful. I have had to chase 2 women (both relativly new) around for 6 weeks now for a $20 auction and a $30 auction. I'm close on one, to saying 2 days... I relist your outta here! When people say to me what a great way to make money .. I know they have NO IDEA all the ins and outs and TIME involved in making money on ebay...

All three of my problem bidders this past month, with decent feedback too, were yahoo users who never got or saw my end-of-auction e-mail. VERY frustrating. They've all paid now, but I had to file NPB on them to get any action. They can e-mail me, but they never see my e-mails because they're in the junk/spam files.

I was just looking at my last 60 days on My Ebay and it looked so strange because of all the NPB disputes.
I also had more returns in one month than in all the years I have been doing ebay.
What's up??? Maybe it is the ad!!!

The past few months for me has been no better, no worse really. It does seem to me though that a feedback of 1 is the killer, I just did some NPB's today and that number kept coming up - 1 transaction, and they were done?

Yes I have had 4 in last month and finally got one to pay. Others no response Then suddenly get 3 emails from one of them wanting total, other email wanting picture, other email wanting to know how long it will take to get item--- DUH long time ago if they had just paid. Then no word again for a week. I hate all the cat and mouse crap I have better things to do than email
s$%^&heads all day.

I think NPB is up big time don't know reason either.
It is very discouraging especially right here at Christmas.

Pooh on the spam folder nonsense they need to log into ebay if they have even bid to see if they won or lost---- it is all right there for them to see and respond to...... That is not a good excuse when they know they have bid on an item..... I am getting no tolerance lately for lame excuses or none at all...

I've been really lucky. I haven't had one in a long time. Most of my buyers are repeat buyers and that makes a huge difference. And most of my newbies have paid right away. I'm knocking on wood all over the place right now!! I've probably just jinxed myself.

This is THE time of year when the newbies come out, with resultant strange behavior.

I honestly think some of those bidders will ask a question via e-mail and then not look at their incoming e-mail for a long time. Maybe they think their answer will come via pigeon post. . . .

There was a clear increase in bottomfeeders and NPB's when ebay instituted the "Make an Offer" system.

I don't use and never will use the Make a Offer option. I had 3 NPB's just 2 weeks ago. Those were the first in almost 3 month's. Hope this is not a growing trend. One had the nerve to email me back and say that it was their under age kid that opened a account, bid and won. Then didn't pay. He, if he could he would pay for the item but he was so broke (I think his exact wording was "financially destitute" he even had his power cut off last week. Didn't know you could send email's from a computer with no power, maybee theirs is solar powered.

You do know you can block bidders for a lot of reasons. I have the -1 bidders and ones with 2 strikes (NPB) blocked. I do get questions about 'why can't I bid?'. I just push the old delete button on them.
