This is addressed to anyone who is considering becoming a no-reserve jewelry (or other frilly thing) seller on eBay.
Beware the Bride to Be, better known as "Bridezilla".
Some bubbleheaded twit went down the list of my closed auctions and sent me this inquiry about each one that closed at 99 cents:
"Do you have 5 of these?"
I *could* explain to her (once only) that auctions are promotions designed to draw attention to all my offerings and that I do not intend to sell my entire quantity of a particular piece at 99 cents apiece. I *could* quote her a reasonable price that is still 85% off department store prices. I *could*.
But I have done just this in years past and no one (not ONE) has ever bought at this reasonable price. No, she's too busy reading all those "How to Have a Champagne Wedding on a Beer Budget" articles. And she thinks she can return that $3,000 Vera Wang gown after the wedding and get her money back!
Merry Christmas, Bridezilla. Now go scamper off and devour Cleveland, why don't you. I swear, sometimes I almost pity the poor schmucks who hook up with these ditzy broads. Almost.

I get these questions all the time. My answer, "No". I don't buy five of the same things for the very reason you are quoting. I don't want to start dealing with the bridezillas of eBay! Please don't send her to devour Cleveland. That's where I live. Cincinnati would be okay, though.
