Fresh from ebay.

***Sign-In Issues Recap***

December 19, 2005 | 05:03PM PST/PT

During the past few days some members have experienced problems signing into eBay. These issues are now resolved – but I want to give you an overview of what happened and our response.

On Friday evening, we needed to roll back some code that was inadvertently causing sign-in issues for a very small number of members. To fix the problem for these members, we automatically required all users to sign in upon returning to eBay. This morning, the volume of sign-ins created traffic issues resulting in slowness and intermittent unavailability of the sign-in feature.

We recognize the inconvenience this caused, particularly at this busy time of the year. The eBay technical teams have worked around the clock since Friday evening to restore full site functionality. We’re confident this issue is now resolved, and we thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,

Gary Slater
Director, Site Operations

I alway's like how it's either a few or "very" few members who are having problems. Must mean a couple of hundred thousand.

Anyone have Meg's home address. I sure would like to give her some coal for Christmas. Hell, I would even borrow a tri-axle dump truck and deliver 10 ton's on her front step. And then pray she broke her neck tripping over it on the way out. Isn't it about time we got some REAL managment at ebay? Will ebay stock have to take a huge dive before the light bulb goes off there that something's wrong?

I'm sick of seeing and hearing the word "issues". It's a problem, so call it a problem.

Less than candid, less than honest.

Oh, I agree about "issues"! I hate that word. If it's a problem, call it a problem. I heard someone on TV talk about his cancer--he had issues with cancer of the colon. Well. . . YES, of course!

I also detest the misuse of the word "individuals" by law enforcement people. Five syllables instead of the simple "person" or "people" we all grew up with. Where did this come from, anyway?

And "gentleman." As in "the 7-11 robbery was committed by a gentleman in a black stocking cap." And then when law enforcement comes onto the scene, the crook is an "individual." Duh.

Somebody here sure pushed my button!

I still think this is a coverup for eBay being hacked!

"person of interest" is another one that makes me cringe. he/she is SUSPECT in some way at the time.

yes, pixia, i'm really wondering myself about a trojan/worm/whether ebay has been hacked. but i have a feeling we'll be the last to know, if that's the case. multiple sign-ins again tonight for me, and never any appearance of the https "secure" in the address bar.

i never leave much in PP anyway, but took it out today and am not listing until this problem...oh, excuuuuuuuuuuse me..."issue" is resolved.

worst Christmas brain fart of theirs yet. where is accountability? fire the head honcho in engineering or whichever dept. head was "overseeing" some underling doing this. personal accountability, now there's an old-fashioned concept!
