I need to set up a second seller account for my church to use for fund raising. Should I use my name and email ect or go strictly with the church info. I will be answering emails and doing the sales ...(unless I can enlist help ...please LORD) with the church CC # for the account and paypal. Any feelings, advise or experience with second accounts will be greatly appreciated.

I would advise a separate account, email address and everything else for your church. This will allow you to give the church board a better accounting of sales, expenses, profits etc. I would hope your not one of those people who is going to include a lot of preaching in your ads or TOS,that is such a turn off.

I believe Ebay is now requiring new accounts to register as private or business. I would get an email account for the church and set up the Ebay account in their name. Especially if you will be using their CC#.

Don't co-mingle anything. Get your church set up as suggested here -- which will also permit a seamles transition should you for whatever reason no longer be able to run their auctions. It would also be simple for someone to fill in from their computer if you're away (which reminds me to ask if you're going to Atlanta this spring?)

Yes I agree with alldings and sparkz on the account for the church. That goes for a separate church PayPal account also. Don't co-mingle your paypal account with the church's.

in order to keep paypal payment separate,I think you need the church to set up an account with paypal as we are only allowed one paypal account per person.
You dont want to link your paypal and church paypal account in any way,as Paypal will make one covers the decifit of another.

Thank you all for your advise. I sort of knew that those were my feelings as well but wanted to see if someone would give me a reason to do it any other way. I can see where it is very important to keep my money and business seperate from church money. As for preaching on the page... NEVER... I don't mix politics or Religion with business. Why, I'll even take a check from a Baptist/republican from Texas!!!!

Wrong. You can have a many accounts as you like. You just have to have a different e-mail address for each account. I happen to have three.

Sort of correct. You can set this up for the church. You just need to make sure to use, and only use the church info. Also very good advise from others to keep it seperate from your own personal accounts. If your church doesn't have an e-mail, set one up for them. You can use a Yahoo, hotmail, excite, gmail or many other free services for that. I did it through hotmail for our school. Works well.
