I guess some buyers can't stop complaining over stupid stuff even after Christmas. I got a positive feedback from a buyer with a negative comment mixed in. She said I over charged on shipping. It was only 79 cents. Can you be a little more petty. Geez. I can see if it was several dollars.
There are just some people who have no life that have to complain about anything and everything.

Yep, some people have nothing better to do. At least it was a + feedback. I just love people who complain about shipping charges when there are TWO shipping calculators in the listing.

I can't believe some people, how they complain over pennies. I have never had one offer to pay me when I have shorted myself on postage.

At times like this, I indulge in revenge fantasies.
Like sending them their refund. In pennies. Postage due.

Sanmar, I just had someone alter the invoice I sent them which waived shipping (I have a store promo- buy three and they all ship free) to include the shipping charges stated in my listing. I even put a note on the invoice that said shipping is free, There are a few honest (if not bright) buyers out there!

That's one of the reasons I use stealth mode with endicia. I've not had a single complaint after that (never had many before, just a few that were annoying and could not believe that they were paying more than actual shipping)

That's why I to like stelth mode postage, I just use PayPal's shipping label service.

.79 sheesh They have no life...I just paid 5.75 for a envelope that arrived with the postage on it of .60 cents. But as a seller I know the envelope cost .39 and the trip to the post office and the sellers time, paypal fees ,eBay listing fees and final value fees. He made a buck or two but I agreed to the shipping when I bid. I truely did believe it would be mailed priority instead of first class but I'd never leave a bad feedback because shipping was stated in the auction. He left feedback when the item was paid for.

I thought first class moves with priority mail?
Is that incorrect?

I just had a buyer of a $5.50 item really goof up. Rather new at it. He immediately sent $6.50 via PayPal--before he got an invoice. I e-mailed that shipping for that 5-pound pottery loaf pan would be $12.50 priority. He e-mailed back that he just wanted "regular mail," didn't need priority shipping. So then I had to do a mini-seminar for him about how the p.o. operates. I have his money now, but I fear he'll do a chargeback on PayPal down the road.
Two other buyers of heavy items have mildly complained about high shipping charges today. A reflection, I guess, of the new postage rates.

Give the buyer neutral feedback (or followup feedback) stating "buyer complained about shipping cost 21 cents over actual postage"

sthoemke--
I did leave a reply to the feedback stating that is was a 79 cent difference that covered expenses. And yes I do put in my listings that shipping includes handling charges as well as the actual shipping so she had no reason whatsoever to nit pic about 79 cents. That barely covered the cost of the envelope, time and effort and the gas to mail it.
I read the feedbacks left by other sellers and somebody did state that she was a complainer. She has feedback of just a little over 100 and mine is now over 1400. She obviously isn't making too many sellers happy. I thought about blocking her. She didn't pay quick but she did pay well before the 10 days I give them was up.

I list in all my auctions that my shipping charges also include my handling fees which cover my packaging materials and my auction and Paypal fees. I never get a complaint on shipping charges. I doesn't bother me when the shipping charges on the package are less than what I payed the Seller when I buy off of E-Bay. Who cares.

yes-I think it moves with media mail. They both say 2-9 days,so Im not sure what the difference is.
I ALWAYS check the shipping before bidding. If I think its too high,I go elsewhere. If they dont list the shipping charges,I email them. If you dont like the shipping charges, dont bid,but dont complain about it afterwards.

I think this year has been especially bad for returns and petty complians. I cant count anymore how many returns I have received already. I send what the picture shows and I stated that there is no refund yet I keep getting returns in the mail. I definatly think that as soon as I am done with my inventory I am done with ebay after over 10yrs. I am just so sick of the non-reading buyers and the petty complains. At least at my BAM store I can tell the buyer NO RETURNS and they do not come back for a return since I have my no returns sign right when they check out. STUPID STUPID NON-READING BUYERS!!!! Edited to add: IF it was not for paypal those stupid buyers would get nothing from me as pay-nonpal always takes the buyers side anyway, I am out the money!!!

chessguy,
Why do you accept the returns? I don't wind up with many returned items, but if they don't have a Return Authorization Number (that I have provided them) right on the outside of the package, I just refuse the package. I've only had to do it once, but I know that once I accepted that package, I would be liable for a refund, whether it was deserved or not (in this case, most definitely NOT).
If I don't trust the returner, I also ask the delivery person to watch while I open the box. They don't mind (I don't ask them to wait until I check the whole thing out, just to make sure it's not bricks in the box).

Classic, I cant recall seeing 1st class specifying 2-9 days? But I mostly ship priority so maybe I havent been paying attention to it. Thought I read somewhere 1stclass moves with priority (here?) and that sounded about right to me, because 1st class usually arrives in 2-3 days or at least it used to.) I cant see them moving it with media mail at all. But if they do, that is something to think about.

From what I've read over the years, PRIORITY MAIL is nothing more than FIRST CLASS MAIL which weighs over 13oz!
THEY ARE BOTH handled the same...

Claude,
Most of the times buy the time I look the packages are already here and the fedex or ups drivers are gone. I have a staging area in my warewhouse where my fedex and ups drivers know to come and pick up packages at the same time they leave any packages that are coming my way there as well. Very rare do I sign for anything coming in.
I guess it's a trust thing with the drivers as they have been servicing this area for a long time. Sometimes I feel like sending it back to them but I guess that would not work with paypal's policy huh.

Tom-DB-if you print a shipping label thru Paypal, the options are right there. It also states the time it ships:
Priority 2-3 days.
First class 2-9 days
Media mail 2-9 days
Parcel post 2-9 days

thanks classic, I never paid attention to that. A first class letter at one time would go across country in 2-3 days but now who knows? And they do differentiate between letters and parcels with the unmachinable thing.)
Classic you should mail me some Cd's 1st class as an experiment, and I'll let you know how long they took to get here, ok? lol

Classic:
PayPal's version of da PONY EXPRESS may say that...
However, according to the Postdoggy General of the USofA, there ain't NO difference between FIRST CLASS MAIL and PRIORITY MAIL as far as handling and the actual mechanics of shipping...
PDG Ralph states:
"Priority Mail was one of our most successful boon-doggies in PO history. We give you the APPEARANCE of expedited service without actually expediting anything..."
So...BUG OFF, BOY! I can only report the PARTY LINE as expoused by the PARTY DOG!
