Ken (my bf) told me not an hour ago that he was going to buy a set of electronic drums from a seller on eBay. 97.9% positive with 197 total transactions. Thank goodness he waited until I checked it out. This guy has no recent feedback from items he sold. The most recent was 1994. Ok, not that unusual. Ken got an email earlier from this guy. His ad stated that his drum set was in excellent condition. Ok, not bad. However, his ad also stated he had several of these sets to sell (email him for more info or if you want more than one set). Red flag. His email stated that shipping was from Germany. The guy supposedly lives in NY. Another red flag. Several sets? Shipping from Germany, but lives in NY? His set and he knows it's in excellent condition? Hmmm. Sounds like drop shipping to me. When I went to find the ad, poof, it was gone. Removed by eBay. I'm betting it was for fee avoidance.
Update, Ken just got an invoice from this joker. It wasn't an eBay invoice although he tried to make it look like one. The invoice states he's a power seller. Ha. He doesn't have any items up for sale and hasn't in some time. Now the price is $800 total (was $300). AND, the invoice says the guy is from Romania NOT NY. This could be a hijacked account. Here's the feedback page:

I would try here http://pages.ebay.com/securitycenter/ . If you send them the email I would be sure to include the full header. This will make it easier for them to track it's origination location.

This guy was good. No wonder newbies fall for this think all the time. It really makes me mad! I honestly believe the account was hijacked.
To make matters worse, Ken doesn't even play the drums. He play guitar. Just what we need. An electronic drum set.

Definitely a hijacked account. That account is a buyer's account. He's only sold 2 items in the last 5 years. Two red flags came up that could be seen in total darkness. The first was the statement that Ebay requires payment to be made via Western Union wire transfer. The second was the word "Romania". Forward it to the address Mike gave you. Be absolutely certain you include the full headers. Ebay will definitely need this info. Also, include the userid of the hijacked account so they can freeze it if they haven't already done so.
