I haven't heard of a new $5 fee, but I don't use PayPal any more.
Isn't this seller violating eBay's new rule about accepting PayPal? I thought if you took PayPal, you had to take all the forms of payment they offered or did that rule only apply to credit cards?

I've had several E-checks the past couple of weeks and no $5 charges. What is this seller talking about? Is it something Paypal started after I had all my e-checks go through?

I get echecks all the time. They're annoying cause they take time to clear, but they don't cost any more than a regular payment. At least nothing noticeable.
Either seller has misunderstood something, or they're just giving a lame excuse for not wanting to wait for the payment to clear.
