Hi all,

Okay, the other day I was wondering just what Auctiva had to offer so I registered.

Tried to access their site through AOL (as opposed to IE) and couldn't get there. My computer hung up so badly I had to hit the power off button. Later on, access via IE seemed to be okay but AOL was still messed up. Had to hit that darn button several times...

(Before I go any farther, there's no need to disparage AOL. This is about Auctiva.)

I wrote Auctiva about it and their reply was:

...This is a common issue with users of the AOL browser.

Please use our site with an alternate browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox and you won't experience this issue. A free download of Mozilla Firefox is available at www.mozilla.com

Thank you,
Auctiva Support.

Finally, with a bit of help from my son, Dr. Computer Genius, I deleted the file auctiva.webex[1] from my computer and AOL began functioning correctly.

Would have been nice if Auctiva had warned me...

Hi HwaHwa,

Yes, I do have AOL's firewall installed, also Norton.

Never have had any slowdowns until this Auctiva stuff.

Oh when will AO Hell users finally pull their collective heads out of their rear ends?

It clearly is about AOL. No problems while using any other search engine. Just when you use AOL. Sounds pretty much like an AOL problem to me.

Don't forget stone, the earth is flat to I used AOL one time for about 3 day's and hated it. It was the most non funtional program I had ever used or had the horror of experiencing in my life. Found Mozilla Firefox and have never looked back.

They say your memory's the second thing to go, I just can't remember what the first thing is.

AOL has a lot of features we dont need, this could be the reason why it is so slow and clumsy.
AOl India and Compaq India both think if you cant sign on with AOL,you can launch IE and I cannot convince them it just does not work that way.
