Please note that the price list link goes to a fake login page.

Fenix, let's hope it is a fake login page. It looks like this bozo has set his auction up so that he can steal passwords as well.

I wonder if the aol email address is a valid address or it it is just used to harvest email addresses. Good way to generate a "sucker" list for scammers.

I reported this to ebay security center as a possible hijacked account. Will be interesting to see if they cancel all the auctions before the 1 day ending times.

Damn fenix, you have been busy tonight sniffing out fishy auctions

It's a shame though, us legitimate sellers wonder why buyers are so suspicious. Looks like you found two seperate sets of listing's that are going to have a bunch of unhappy bidders that are going to get burned if ebay does not end them soon.

They weren't hard to find. These idiots bunch all their auctions up. When you hit a page with half a dozen purple listings for Mac laptops starting at .01 it's not hard to figure out something is wrong.

It's one thing to be a thief. It's another to be a sloppy one. If they had staggered the listing times and used different page designs and not used the purple I never would have noticed them.

Well there are still 90 listed and it is 2:43 am Texas time. Mike did you turn in all the auction numbers that would take a long time to get them & put in the complaint form. OR do they look at a user name and check them out. Ought to cancel just because of link to a sign in page being in it and an email addy too. Very suspicious.

Very sloppy attempt at phishing. Fake ebay form emails the marks ID and password to [email protected]. Guess it's yet another hijacked eBay account <sigh>. Won't people learn to use strong passphrases, and change them regularly?

irked - To report a possible ebay users account as hijacked you go to the Help/Contact US page in ebay. Sellect account security, Unauthorized account activity, Report another users account as stolen and click continue. It then ask you for the suspected hijacked account users ebay ID and then there is a description box where you can type in your suspicions. Oh, and click send.

Oh ok thanks Mike. I was trying to report something about a month ago and kept running into entering numbers and nothing matched what I wanted to report. It was a popup on an auction that asked you to sign in. and Only was on that auction, strangest thing I ever saw. Looked just like the log in window of a domain that probably was his as name was simular.

Should maybe report it via 'live help' to get someone to look at it quicker ... it's a damn shame that so many people have bid on his 'items'. ... (and a damn shame ebay has let it go on this many hours).

Glassgrl,
Why won't Ebay do anything about this seller? Did they give you a reasonable answer? Especially in light of the log in page. They are certainly slipping these days. It's all about the money. The fees generated by this suppose seller are high! What it the cost of the featured listing?

Well at least they axed them. What ebay needs is a emergency response email or phone number that hijacked and bogus accounts can be reported to 24/7/365.

and they need to do something about that stupid sign in page. I doubt I would have even thought about not logging in if I had seen that auction. That sign in page shows up all the time - like the other day, when I was trying to post that auction for the squashed camper. When I clicked on the link in my posting it took me to a sign in page, but nobody else said they got it.

I will know to look at the address bar in my toolbar from now on though.

I found a good link that has the Ebay phising scams posted. And they have 2 good links under "articles" -

cloaked url checker :
http://www.millersmiles.co.uk/identitytheft/spoof-link-checker.php

and Cloaked or spoofed HTML link checker.

http://www.millersmiles.co.uk/Link-Checker.php

http://www.millersmiles.co.uk/

good reading if your bored or want more information. they reported that "MailFrontier recently claimed that over 40% of recipients fell for the recent Citibank Email Phishing Scam"
