I have a group of items listed individually - jewelry all by the same designer - so in each auction I put a photo of all of it together stating that the last photo shows all I am currently offering in my auctions. I don't normally do this but given ebay's current search problems I felt this was the best way to get it viewed.
Now one of the bidders has emailed me from each auction saying 1. I am violating ebay's policy 2. I will be required to sell her all the jewelry in the last photo for the one auction 3. She just found out I will lose my ebay privileges due to this action and I better change them or she will get all the jewelry.
Well I can't end the auction she is the high bidder on now as it's in the last 12 hours. I will cancel her bid and I have deleted the group photo from Vendio but it's still there - dang thing won't go away.
I see seller's doing this all the time and it never occurred to me that it was against policy? I can't find it either.

Depending on the wording in your description, I don't know of any policy it could be violating. In addition to cancelling this person's bid, I hope you blocked her also. As for the picture, go into Vendio image hosting, click on the recycle bin, and delete the image from there. Clear your cache and the image will be gone from the auction.

She may be refering to "choice listings" however I don't believe your particular auction qualifies as it's described by ebay

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-choice.html

Because you have a seperate auction for each piece of jewlery...I don't see how what your doing with the last photo is any different then have Vendio's gallery.

If you've deleted the photo from Vendio it may just be taking awhile to "adjust". I've noticed a time lapse when I've replaced photos.

Just to be sure your covered you may want to go into the listing and add a "revised" note at the bottom specifing that this auction is for this specific piece of jewlery only.

Is this against ebay policy??

No, not as far as I know. Otherwise, none of us would be able to have Vendio or other galleries in our auctions.

Drop-kick this lady into tomorrow.

Better yet, divulge her ID so we can do it, too.

Sparkz - that did the trick, thanks. Could I use that image name and add text to show I've revised the item? Seams I tried to do that before and it keep reloading my old image. Was that because I didn't clear my cache.
I did block her but I would feel so much better if I could just end the listing - too late?
ewora - I can't add anything now unless I do it with the deleted photo.
Fluffy - want her email address?? I saved it.

First of all - you absolutely can cancel her bid. Even in the last 12 hours. And you should.

Cancel the bid. Block her. Send her an email which states that you are not a quivering 12 year old mass of jello that she can bully and intimidate with her personal interpretation of rules and that you have no desire to take part in a transaction with someone that possesses the stunning combination of cluelessness and hostility that her email contained.

Lady..You can type the Declaration of Independence or a birthday greeting to aunt Matilda. If you save it as a .jpg and upload it to Vendio with the EXACT same filename (be careful of upper/lower case letters) it will appear in the same place as the original picture. You can do this with as little as 60 seconds left in the auction. It's exactly the same process as sabotaging an auction of a thief who is linking to your images. The only pic that is difficult to get rid of is the Ebay Gallery picture. It usually takes an hour or so until it will change.

How did it work out for you? Bet she tried or does turn you in to ebay unless she is all bark and not bite. I never heard of rule not letting you put combinations in auction but would definately make it plain and clear, with note typed on image to go check out your other auctions for these items??? would that not work. I figure unless you are shooting them the red eye your images were allowed. Look at all the big busted women in images usually with nothing to on auction. I am probably wrong with some of my ideas here as ebay is always changing and not making it clear a lot of the time. Open to interpretation if you ask me. I know no one ask me. LOL

Loads of sellers take a photo of a group of items and then share that photo between individual auctions, stating "ring on left", "ring in middle", "ring on right". Perfectly eBay legal.

It's usually better to take a group photo, then spend a few moments in Photoshop to chop/crop it into separate images. Prevents confused bidders like the one you had to block.

Sellers do this all of the time. I thought maybe there was a policy change, but I could not find anything on Ebay anywhere in the "Listing policies" or "Rules for Sellers" stating you cannot have a group picture and a separate auction for each item. Vendio would not be allowed the gallery if that were true. You are not circumventing fees nor giving the bidder a choice of the items.

She will not get all of the jewelry in the picture no matter how hard she cries to Ebay if you have the jewelry piece the auction is for clearly stated in the title and in the item description.

I had a group picture for 4 Christmas ornaments and I stated in size 18 font (so potential bidders had no excuse but to see it) that "this auction is for xx ornament only, the others are available in my other auctions." I sold all 4 with no complaints from the buyers.

This is fairly common in the pottery and dinnerware category. Take a picture of a set of china and then piece out the set. Use the same picture in each auction. That way the bidder for the cup and saucer will see the covered butter dish or the soup bowls you have in the other auctions and search them out also. Be sure to play up combined shipping in the descriptions.

Here's the last 6 email I've gotten from this nut. The first 2 or 3 where worst or just as bad.
The last two where after I cancelled her bid and blocked her. What a bottom feeder. She wants over $100 worth of jewelry for $8.5

I just found out you will lose your ebay privileges due to this action. You better change it or I better get all pictured in auction.
2. I have turned you in for circumvention which is strictly against ebay policy. If I win, I expect all that is pictured.

I wasn't sure if you had accidentally put in your Ebay user ID to your post because you deleted it from your post so quickly.

Since she is a jewelry seller and a competitor of yours, can you not claim harassment if she turns you into Ebay on a false violation?

I'm not sure if it's OK to post her ID or not but she does sell jewelry and I think she is using any excuse to get something for nothing!!! Such an angry person?? Maybe I should feel sorry for her.

go to Advanced ebay search and find by bidder and post one of the auctions she is bidding on that way we can all block her. or one she might be selling. That is ok to do. tell us if bidding or if selling.

Here one of her items. She buys and sell with the same ID. So far I've haven't heard from her again but she sure did mess up my good listing night! I think I will check and see if I can report her for harassment or something. Thanks again guys for the help and support.

You can do that, but you should be very specific about which piece each auction is for.

I know one seller that constantly group 6-8 different items in a single scan, and sometimes it is a brain twister trying to figure out which item goes with each auction.

I realize you didn't ask for comments on your auctions and that I risk incurring wrath here.

However, don't you think you should put the measurements of the jewelry in your auction descriptions?

That's got to be far more important that talking about the great jewelry you're going to be listing sometime soon. IMHO.

Fluffy
Don't worry, I have to pick my battles this week as there are too many to fight. Besides that is good sound advice.
However, I did put the size in every other listing but not that little group as I almost dropped it in a donation pile anyway. Sure wish I had now! What a pain.

I will never doubt your abilities - how did you find me?

I'd rather not say publicly, but I imagine most other experienced eBayers would have done so just as easily.

You've nothing to fear. I'm not going to mess with your auctions. I don't think anyone else will, either. Ever since I went public with my eBay ID, I've had no problems of that kind (or, if I had sport bidders, there weren't any more than usual -- I'm used to it!).

You can email me at [email protected] if you want specific comments.

Lady, I had a similar problem this week.

Buyer bought 3 of my auctions and then complained immediately after auction close that my auctions were intentionally misleading because I had pictures of additional products in the auction.

After taking a few deep breaths, I replied to her that I would file for mutual NPB and she could go buy someone ele's items. I also sent her a very nice letter that said it should be very obvious to anyone READING the auction what item I was selling since it is stated in the auction title, as well as in the first and 3 rd lines of the auction in BOLD TYPE.

Her response to that was that she was a very "visual" person and did not have time to read. I blocked her ID and then did a little research.

Turns out this genius is selling the same product line I am under a different ID and just wanted to end my listings before her's closed that evening. I blocked her selling Id as well. If she shows up again, there will be some serious h3ii to pay!

Further research showed that she claims to be a life coach and gives seminars in California. I can only imagine the type of values she is teaching.

I wouldn't have the "balls" to do what she did. That's awful! I sell new jewelry. It's rare that I sell vintage. I haven't bought anything on eBay in ages.

Edited to add: My seller ID is my business name. Wouldn't have one with my first name in it.
