I must have picked up these 12 postcards over the winter somewhere and stuck them away damp. When I got them out yesterday, the front and backs had separated from some. All of Mt Vernon and Geo Washington was here type of postcard. Not linen, but all in color. BS Reynolds Co. All unused. Some say one cent stamp here, others just stamp here. Will separated cards sell? Should I glue them back together? Or sell as is? Would probably scan and sell as set of 12. What date could you give for age? Thanks, Ruthie

Ruthie - Mt Vernon cards in even the best condition do not sell. There are just too many of them. Ditto to Niagara Falls, Williamsburg, Smoky Mountains, Dearborn Village, White Mountains, linen cards printed by Asheville Post Card Co ... I could go on and on. Separated cards, unless very unique views of small towns, are generally worthless unless they hold some nostalgic value for someone. I have heard of decoupagers (is that what they are called) who buy old postcards in bad condition for craft work but I assume they don't pay very much for them.

Ditto to the above! And the accordion-pleated ones of Washington D.C., too. Just too many of them out there. You might start a bonepile of unsellable postcards, and when you've accumulated lots of them, sell them in a lot--but don't expect mucho dinero for them.
