On Wednesday, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning,
the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06.
That won't ever happen again - at least in our lifetime. And, just think of how many of us are just going to sleep through this once in a lifetime event!

I read that on Yahoo news. I thought that was cool. Of cours I'm not going to stay up and watch the clock and none of our clocks show seconds around here so it wouldn't do me much good even if I wanted to.

Umm, I'm not sure I understand what's so special about this. You state "That won't ever happen again - at least in our lifetime.". Last time I checked no one has invented a time machine to go back in time yet so once ANY point in time pass's it will never happen again. Every point in historical time can only happen once unless you get into some rather advanced string theory that allows all points in time to be occuring simultaneously in a infinite number of dimensions and parallel universes. But this can get a little mind boggling. So in short if string theory proves correct that exact point in time is alway's occuring and has alway's occured. God, I need to stop reading advanced science journals.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. - Albert Einstein

In europe this will happen on may 4 because the date is listed before the month (ie a March 8 birthday would be 8-3 and not 3-8)- so if you didn't manage to stay awake....

I was awake, puking up yesterday's lunch.
So I'm just as happy this "special moment" will never be repeated.
I'm skeptical of string theory, Mike. There are too many contradictions. I tend to go with the _Men in Black II_ version: Our entire known universe is contained within an intergalactic bus station locker.
Now to advise my customers there will be no shipping today and probably tomorrow as well. They'll be sympathetic and understanding, right?

miles, old boy, in the year 2106 we will have a moment at 1:02:03 04/05/06. No string theory required. In 2101 we will also have 6:05:04 03/02/01.
Maybe you can look forward to 1:11:11 1/1/11 in 2011.
