I have a non-paying bidder where I received my FVF. He claims that he sent a money order. Not so. He emailed me thru Ebay a very nasty email filled with 4 letter words. I would like to pass this email onto Ebay as I feel that he will most likely neg me which doesn't really matter but I would like them to deal with him.
thank you,
Mama

From what I just read, feeBay prohibits:

1) OBSCENITY in publicly accessible areas of the site (IOW: listings; board postings; ME pages, etc)

and...

2) THREATS OF BODILY HARM, whether by email, carrier pigeon, smoke signals, etc...

NOWHERE can I find a specific prohibition against NAUGHTY, yet non-bodily-harm-threatening emails! PERHAPS 4-letter words are considered PROTECTED SPEECH, and thus untouchable by feeBay??

DID he THREATEN you? Or just call you a ripe ole %$#%? Then told you to take yer &%$@ and #@#$# it...etc,etc??

Edit the email to remove anything that would identify you. Then set up a throwaway email account. Forward the edited email to that account. From there forward the nasty email to about a dozen porn sites in addition to the Democratic and Republican national headquarters, the American Nazi Party, and the WCTU. Don't forget to include the NAACP and Nascar. Be sure his full name, address and telephone number is in the email. Then delete the temp email account.

Mamachia - If you received the email in your "My eBay Messages", look on the right hand side of the email.

There's a little section that says:

Is this email inappropriate? Does it violate eBay policy? Help protect the community by reporting it.

The 'reporting it' is an active link. It will take you to a page called "Report Email Abuse" and there will be a drop down box where you can select member is harassing me.

There is a comments box, but it will will have everything else filled in, including a copy of the message you received.

Good luck!

edited to add: And then do what sparkz suggested.

Wow thanks guys! Very helpful info especially from Sparks. That would be cruel punishment for a lousy email. But I may do it if it gets worse.
thank you,
Mama

Morning,
Thank you TnErnie, I must have looked at that page a 100 times or better but never read the right hand box. I guess that I have never had the need to do so up until yesterday. I have reported him by way of that link plus I forwarded the message to my email account & forwarded to Ebay's Customer Service department. Let's see how long it takes for them to reply. I am not a power seller any longer so how long will it be on the back burner.
thank you again,
Mama

Mama...Just out of curiosity, did this guy participate in the UID by responding in the dispute console? If not, hope he does neg you. Ebay will remove it and replace it with a statement that he refused to participate in the UID. You will be able to neg him and it will stick.

yes, they did but gave me grief every step of the way. did some searching where it turns out to a woman with the potty mouth. I will take my chances as I have way too much feedback with only 3 negs after 7 years.
You are almost always going to come across a few loony tunes on Ebay. People are so brave in speaking their minds in emails.
