I'm selling some collectible Mad pins from an estate, for a friend. Can't recall the name (or make) of this bird. Anyone?

AND. . . . while we're at it, what should I call this boat? Chinese junk? Steam boat? Insane thing?

Prairie schooner?

That could be an older version of a Spy vs Spy bird.

"Prairie Schooner?"

"Houston Land Boat?"

"S-Car-Go Cooker?"

I think I'll go with Spy vs Spy bird and Prairie Schooner--for want of exact information! Thanks, all.

That is not a Prairie Schooner. It's an airship. The yellow part that says MAD at the top is a balloon and you can clearly see the attachement ropes running down the sides. Also you can see some sort of an air filling nozzle on the bottom of the balloon on the left.

If it's from MAD it could very well be their version of a DODO bird.
How ever you spell it?

A Mad collector has e-mailed me privately and said the bird is "Flip the Bird," for which there was a Mad naming contest. Funny, huh!

And he said the "prairie schooner" thing is a blimp. So I've gone with his suggestions. They're up and launched.
