I'm selling some collectible Mad pins from an estate, for a friend. Can't recall the name (or make) of this bird. Anyone?
AND. . . . while we're at it, what should I call this boat? Chinese junk? Steam boat? Insane thing?

I dont know what the bird is, but there are eBay days that make me feel exactly like him!!! Are you sure thats a boat?? It looks like a wagon...it has wheels and a boarding step, but it also has sails...really wierd. I'm no help at all...sorry

That is not a Prairie Schooner. It's an airship. The yellow part that says MAD at the top is a balloon and you can clearly see the attachement ropes running down the sides. Also you can see some sort of an air filling nozzle on the bottom of the balloon on the left.

A Mad collector has e-mailed me privately and said the bird is "Flip the Bird," for which there was a Mad naming contest. Funny, huh!
And he said the "prairie schooner" thing is a blimp. So I've gone with his suggestions. They're up and launched.
