I have been trying to add subcatergories to my store, and have totally messed it up. I had a knitting catergory with over 200 items, and tried to add sub categories, but then didn't know how to add the items, so I cancelled them, and now I have nothing in my knitting catergory. HOW CAN I GET THE AUCTIONS BACK IN THE CATEGORY PLEASE??

If you have ebay sales manager (free with a store), you can search your active listings by title (hopefully you have the word knit or knitting in all of them). There is a LITTLE button that says "edit" and you can check all the listings you want to edit and then bulk edit to change store categories.

You really have to plan all these categories carefully. Ebay will move all your current listings to other to clear the main category into which you want to enter subcategories. So you might also peek into the OTHER catergory.

neglus:Would you give me a bit more information please. I can't find sales manager. Do I have to apply for it? If so, where? I really appreciate you help.
vintageads: You are right, they are all in my "other" folder. I started to change them one by one, but there are about 250 to go!

Go to My eBay
Go to list of items being sold
CLick down the list to select all of your items
Click on Edit button
Unclick every box except store catagories and click next
Select your catagories.
Rinse and repeat as needed

I believe you need to subscribe to Sales Manager, even though it's free to stores. Sales Manager changes your My eBay view.

The bulk edit function is free, does not need a subscription and will enable you to individually wdit the catagories and subcatagories on 25 items at a time on about 2 minutes.
With 250 listings to edit, no need to make things more difficult that they need to be.
BTW - at the top of the list on your selling page in MyEbay is a drop down box that will all ow you to select by catagory - just pick Other and start fixin'.

I sympathise with you!
10 minutes ago I just finished going through the whole process myself.
Fenix is correct and the way they suggest is the easiest. I started to revise each item individually and realised it would take all day.
I went to the EBay Stores board and searched Categories and the solution that came up was just as fenix described.

Thanks SO much for all the help. About 50 of my bulk edits wouldn't go through, because of an error, so I just had to do those individually. Well, I won't be trying to do that again!

If they are closing in the next 12 hours or have bids, you can't do the edit. Other than that, I have found that many times it will say there was an error but the change really was made.
