I have a vendio store and post ebay listings from there. May vendio store has a .com logo and the name of the store says .com
When i sent a listing to ebay from vendio I have the picture set up where it says click here to view supersized pictures..when click it takes people to a screen where they see some of my vendio store items as well as my vendio store logo with the .com on it
Is this allowed on ebay?

If it's set up the way you described it, and the dot-com does not appear anywhere on the auction page, then you would be in compliance with the "one click removed" rule. What you need to watch is that when they click that link, it takes them to a page that further describes the item listed in the auction. If it takes them to the store instead directly from the auction page, and that auction item is not there, you would be in violation of the hotlinks rule and they would shut down the auction.

Ok hmm...still a little confused.
When you click the picture a new page appears. At the top it has a vendio logo that says click to go to my vendio store and below that has a large picture of my image
If you scroll down past the image there is my logo (which has a dot com in it) the name of my vendio store which has a dot com in it and 4 items that are in my vendio store that says sample items. If you click on the sample items you go directly to the ebay store.
Anyone know if this is allowed?

The link has to take them to a page that further describes that particular auction item, but has no other items or items from another site or links that take you to another site to sell items off eBay. As it stands now, I'd say you are in violation. JMHO.

I think the ruling on this is that if it takes you to a "gallery" (and the Vendio store serves as a gallary of your ebay listing) of your ebay items, it's ok. The link to the Vendio store lands at the "Ebay items" section (users have to click to see "all items" and is therefore compliant. But you might want to post in the Vendio Services board below this one to make sure.

Search Help
tips
Linking to Photos of Your Items
Sellers may include links to photos of the item for sale. The photo pages may also contain discrete links to other pages that offer items for sale outside-of-eBay, but may not contain descriptions of or links to specific items on other sites.
Linking to Picture Galleries
Sellers may also link to a page where information relating to eBay or Half.com items is grouped in a picture gallery or similar format as long as the page otherwise complies with eBay's links policies. This gallery page may also contain discrete links to other pages that offer items for sale outside-of -Bay, but may not contain descriptions of or links to individual items on other sites.

LOL, neglus, now I'm confused. Can't eBay say anything in plain old English?

Well according to that last rule it seems like possibly it would be ok. The pictures of vendio store items have the picture and the item name...if you click on one of them you are just taken to the vendio store and not the actual particular item
Would hate to post a ton of listings with this though only to have them pulled down. The other issue is that my vendio store name which is a dot com appears on the page as well.

Just thought about something. Does anyone know eBay's definition of "discreet"? They have a tendancy of defining things differently than the rest of us. Or, is it up to interpretation of the person at eBay who happens to be looking at the page? If so, IMO, I wouldn't chance it.

Yeah right wish I did. Its discreet in the way that when you click it you just see the pic..the only way you would see the non discreet things is if you decided to scroll down..but who knows.
I was going to call them to ask but last time i did that i was told clearly that it was ok to add a live chat button in my auctions only to have them pulled down a few months later.

I would *Hope* that Vendio checked this out with ebay - this linking has been in existence for YEARS. In fact, Beth, Vintageads4u, has a link to her Vendio store GALLERY in her description and got ebay to approve it (she states that in her listing so competitors wouldn't try to report it). Hopefully she will pop in and clarify this.

Yes you would think vendio would not even allow it to happen if it wasnt ok..but would be nice to see if others who have used it have had issues with it.

Hello,
After recently retaking/renewing my 'Certified consultant' exam, I know far too much about just these types of rules.
Since the DOT.com image/URL doesn't appear in your items description field itself, your in the clear. The 'click to enlarge' image page is where you can get away with having a link to non-eBay goods. (as long as you cant actually buy anything directly from this first page, which is why some refer to it as the 2 click rule.)
If you can buy non-eBay goods in one click from your item description - your in trouble, but in 2 clicks and your in the clear. (although you can't come right out and say that in your item description.)
Regards,
Christopher
