and it is not just me complaining. 2 out of 9 auctions launched last night made it into the search in just under and hour. The remaining 7 have still not been indexed and it has been over 12 hours.
seems I am not the only person having this problem.

You are not alone! The Stores board is full of these stories. I decided a month ago to do an experiment with the search. When searching for vintage jewelry lot, I get items that don't even contain "vintage" or "jewelry" in the title. It seems if someone put an item in the "vintage" category, it comes up on the search. That's not what I wanted because as we all know, many things are put in a category that don't belong there. I've long since given up and don't use the search feature much anymore. I think a lot of people are going to stop using the search feature. It's broken, but eBay will not admit to it.

15 hours and my 7 auctions are still missing and un-searchable. But wait! It gets even stranger. Go to advanced search and search your user name for active auctions. 7 out of 9 do NOT show. Then I tried it again and include completed auctions. All the missing auctions show up and they show as ACTIVE!
Where is Pandorasbox when you need them? Who should I call at NBC? EBay is seriously SNAFU. I bet a few stock holders would like to hear about this. Makes you wonder which straw will break the camels back. Pizzd off buyers or pizzd off sellers?

Actually Stone there is more than one answer.
I would have already hauled all this to Salvation Army (solution #2)but I feel I need the money and I know I have stuff people want. #3 would be to have more yard sales and I have already made that part of the plan.
I had hoped to be finished with eBay this year, but family illness has delayed my exit. Seems eBay is trying to speed it up <g>

Instead of listing a 5 day auction, spend an extra 40 cents and list it for 10 days. That way, if you're lucky, it will show up in search for a full 5 days.

Hello,
Thank you for reporting the search indexing delays you have noticed for
your item(s). We are aware that some items are currently failing to show
in search after 12+ hours and we are currently working to repair this as
quickly as possible.
We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your
patience while we work to bring this feature back to normal working
order.
Regards,
Luke E.

Ok Ebay. Now that you have admitted to the search problem, how about some refunds for the time where our items aren't showing up!!!
Ok, that was a pipe dream.
This might be a good one to let out to the news media though. They could title it, "Ebay rips off sellers and gives no options for recourse."

The problem with search - or whatever is ailing ebay - is MORE than one day's listings not appearing in search for 12 hours - something is screwy and it is KILLING eBay sellers.
Here are screenshots of my traffic and sales reports for May. My $ sales are off 33% from the same period last year (THIS IS NOT SEASONAL!) and I have 1500 more items listed in my store - traffic to my store follows the same pattern.

Neglus is right.
The search indexing problem has been going on for at least 3 days that I am aware of.
But the other search problems have been going on for over a month now. Things like duplicate searches returning different results, store items missing in search intermittenly, Gallery pics disappearing for hours at a time.
I'm sure that eBay is fully aware of the problems but refuses to acknowledge them until they have a solution. SOP.
IF and when they find the solution, eBay will announce that they are aware of the problem about 3 hours AFTER they have found the fix. Then they go to lunch and come back and post that it has been fixed.
Until then, all we can do is complain VERY LOUDLY. They will not acknowledge the problems until enough of us scream loudly enough that they can not ignore us any longer.

They did announce that it was fixed late last night. Anyone want to place bets that it really isn't fixed?

Hi Everyone;
I'm on it but no replies yet from Hani Durzy at eBay and I really don't expect anything other than the usual company line.
I covered search (or actually, missing search) as it applies to Express on last week's show...and how this all seems to be a further bit of SNAFU going back to the give and then take on store items in search.
I'm going to be at eBay Live next week, my trusty MP3 recorder in hand, and I'm going to interview as many staff as I can.
I'm going to pose the same questions to each and see how many different replies I get.
Best,
Michael
