That other thread about the goofbay site made me think and wonder what you all consider the most misspelled words on ebay. Would be interesting to see your finds and thoughts on this one showing the variations of the misspellings etc. Maybe even an auction of two. We recently saw the auction with Flask misspelled--How about it?
I'll start diamond--dimond and a lot of other variations like this:Diamend
I am far from criticizing these auctions as I can't spall either, LOL but I try very hard not to goof titles up for sure, as you can loose out big time by misspelling stuff. I got a Dell wireless setup keyboard mouse for hardly nothing once cause it was spelled Dale...

What always gives me problems is the one word vs. 2 words item, such as teapot (tea pot) or ashtray (ash tray). I usually put both spellings in the title since people search for them both ways. Sure eats up a lot of scarce spaces in the title, though.

Help me spell this stupid word. It's one of the old tools I have. I believe it's called a (please don't laugh) cicle? I can't spell the darn thing. It's a crescent slapped metal with the inside edge being very sharp and jagged. It is attached to a short handle. I just need to know how to spell the darn thing! Is it a sickle?

LOL maybe they should add irritable to that description.
I also never knew they could goof up a word like card / cards. Too funny.
This is very interesting and informative. Going to have to start looking for more misspelled items might just find a bargain--another misspelled word-bargin.

Look for good deals under Wedgewood instead of the correct Wedgwood.
I agree re: Tea Pot vs Teapot always causes me problems so I also use both in the title.

I have 2 more of those double words that always give me problems. Fair Isle or Fairisle, also Bedjacket or Bed jacket. I find that there is just not room to put both in a title. When I check them out, I find that the searches come up about 50/50.

Glad you caught it...Happens all the time. I have collected Wedgwood for years and I still spell it wrongly if I don't stop and think about what I am doing....just one of those words that doesn't seem right without the "e".

My theory about "lavender" is that people confuse it with the spelling of "calendar." (At least, that's what I used to do!)
And. . . people who can't spell frequently can't look up the words in the dictionary because, tadaaaa, they can't spell them! Or ... they don't know they're spelling the words wrong.

I get a kick out of Lavender--Lavander. Believe it or not about 30 yrs ago the Govenor of Minnesota was Lavander, which spelled backwards is Rednaval!!!

I had to go back and check. I knew 30 years ago was incorrect because I knew that was when Hubert Humphrey passed away. That is when current governor Wendell Anderson resigned the governorship to become Senator and Rudy Perpich became governor. I did some checking and it was 40 years ago. He was governor before Wendell Anderson.
