They just announced a recall because the 707 may have a melt down when using certain non-rechargable batteries if the unit is placed on the charger or in a docking cradle.
I'm sure there might be one or two of the sellers here who have one.

I read that and almost fell out of the chair laughing. ANYTIME you put non rechargeable batteries on a charger, the batteries will rupture or explode, or the charging circuitry will catch on fire. Makes no difference if it's an electric toothbrush or a digital camera. And it doesn't have to be a HP 707. It can be a Sony or a Kodak. Anyone dumb enough to try to recharge a non-rechargeable battery, despite the written warnings, is probably too dumb to figure out how to operate the camera anyway. This is nothing more than a corporate PR campaign by HP leading up to the launch of a new model, and by calling it a "recall", they are getting millions of dollars worth of free press. The baby car seat manufacturers have been doing this for years.
