I have racked my brain this morning and I can't come up with the word for 'pipe cleaner' when it applies to old Santa's with those for arms and legs. I know you guys and gals will know it right away and I will slap myself upside my head and go 'Duh' when you answer!

Sorry, all I've got for you is pipe cleaner. You're speaking of those wire things that you can figures out of, right? Or are you speaking of a bristled brush with no handle ?

put the word chenille in the listing but Santa collectors do know them as pipe cleaner and do search for them that way I assure you. Is it German or Japanese?.... Is it a Belschnickle Santa? Those are "key word terms you should know and list with him Love to see a picture I could help more ... hopefully

It's a bad link to your picture. If you put
http://imagehost.vendio.com/pmelcher/cleanersanta1.jpg
into the address bar of your browser, it should bring up the picture and it doesn't.

I knew that chenille was a type of fabric, I didn't know that it was also used to describe something made out of pipe cleaners.
Here's a link to some chenille fabric

pmel they look 1960s Japan to me... the term chenille I suspect... refers to the look of the chenille fabric those "pulled and fluffy" pieces of thread.

The politically correct craft-store name is the chenille stem. I still call them pipe cleaners.
