We've had Norton for about 8 years and are very happy with it. No computer virus has ever hit us, in all this time.

Don't connect to the EVIL internet and never share CDs, DVDs, or floppy disks with other computer users. Norton is okay but there are better products out there. If you want real advise visit the NSA website for details on securing your PC.

I to use McAfee. I bought the Internet Security suite. Has virus scan, firewall, spam blockers and all the other must have internet security bell's and whistles. Have never had a bug or problem in the 3 or 4 years I have been using them. I find their system is easier to set up and use than Norton, JMO.

I use McAfee because AOL provides it free. When it detects a virus or trojan, it removes it from the computer completely, not just quarantine it like some of the others. A quarantined virus can come back to bite you in the butt down the road if you forget about it and accidentally screw up while doing something else.

Again, McAfee. Get the Internet Security Suite boxed set. It has everything you could need all on one disc. This boxed set has their Virus scan, Privacy service, Spam killer and Personal firewall programs. Also includes other programs like their file shreding program.

Paw if you have Yahoo SBC uh--ATT Dsl configure outlook express to download your emails. I like that best, as accessing all my mail accounts via the web is a pain. I have them all download into Outlook Express, use filters and no problems.

I use Norton's. They even gave me a free year las April cause that was easier than telling me how to get the new ID number on my PC in place of the old one. Sounds strange but yep got a free year with old software and still have the New disk I was trying to install and would not change software id number on. Going to use it on my new laptop.

I got tired of the yearly renewal fees. About every third year I buy a norton system works on ebay about about 1/2 price.

Install and register it. then just install the ultilities.

If you already have Norton on you computer let the anti virus expire. The utilities disk is still good and you can download for free AGV anti virus.

Works for me, it might work for you.

I know what ya talking about.. I also got tired of renewing Norton every year and kept putting it off and then I started getting automatic updates. LOL

The puter I just bought had 60 days of Norton. It expired, but was still in system.
I decided to try a new one on old puter and see how I liked it. It is Defender Pro with 5 downloads..Anti-virus-Spam-Spyware
-Fire wall- Tool box..$19.95. Seems to be OK..I did have trouble getting the Anti Spam up ..Will try again later..LOl
Have a great Evening
