I figured I would listen to the show today since it's a phone in session today. Someone called in about the excessive shipping policy a little while ago and my jaw hit the floor when I heard something Griff said ebay was thinking of doing.
To make the shipping price more visable to buyers ebay is thinking of including the shipping price + the bid price on the search pages. In other words when you search for something the results page will show the combined price. Well that may be fine and dandy for fixed shipping price items but what about calculated? I usually have 3-5 shipping options for my auction items. What are they going to do, show the lowest price shipping option, highest price shipping option? My god, can they screw up ebay any worse then it already is. Looks like they are hard at work trying.

I wonder how they would handle those of us that reside in Canada & use Canada Post but list on the US Site?
Gets more & more interesting although I am sure that now there are less Stores every day they have to find a "make work" project for some of the employees!

On the Stores subject that we discussed last week I just checked and the "View all Stores" link is gone again so we can't check the numbers!

Mike, I agree.
What they do now with calculated is show buyers the first option you have listed in your calculator based on their zip code. If I'm buying a 10 lb. gizmo from myself, shipping shows at $10 if I list UPS first, $5 if I list parcel post first. Conversely, if I'm in CA and the listing shows parcel post first, it's $20 or $15 with UPS -- well, close enough.
I really wish they'd THINK before they leap. OR else just show the listings with fixed price shipping, and not even "figure" the calculated for you.
If bidders can't add, they shouldn't bid (which probably takes care of a stunning number of eBayers!).

So if you list through Vendio, will your shipping options show in the order you input them ito the grid (i.e. if you go lowest, say media mail, then parcel post, then priority) - OR - does Ebay have a shipping default that would put the order highest to lowest (i.e. priority, then parcel post, then media mail)?
The reason I ask is this - when you hit the Calculate button on the auction listing, it always has Priority at the top and descends to lower priced shipping options.
If this comes to pass, I hope Vendio has a work around or else any of us who use multiple shipping options will always have our "combined" price showing with the highest shipping option as the add-in.
