Has anyone figured out how to restring the arms on those flapper-type celluloid dolls? All there is is a hole in the arm where the elastic goes and a hole in the body for the other end of the elastic. There is no loop like on the bisque dolls.

Crochet hook? We use that for restring jobs.

Thanks for the idea, but there is only a pin sized opening in the arm and body.

Sounds like a sail needle is needed.

dacreson, you mean marlinspike tools? ( I just recently learned about those) Some of those would would but I think there might be an easier way.

Hi,
No, I mean a sail maker needle. It is a large needle about 4-6 inches long. It is (was) used to make sails with heavy thread.

There is a curved one as well, but you don't want that one.

Now a Marlin spike and a Fid are other larger tools intended to spice line (Not rope) ... .... David
