I have a naughty little Japanese piece that I need to list but I would like to know if I list it in the adult section does it show in my regular listing - like view seller's other items etc. I'm sure it antique and Japanese - does anyone have in experience in this type of item - I think it would be called erotica. It's a lovely pendant of a Japanese's lady's head on one side but the other side hides the naughty part which has to be opened.
Should I just list it under antiques and not show the back opened???

Ralphie you are soo bad.
Here's a photo - can you guess what that little smile is all about. Hope the photo isn't too dark and you don't get a photo of the back!!!

The Japanese seem to be big on this type of thing in all categories. I have seen ceramic masks and boxes listed on Ebay with a common motif and when you turn it over or open it, the erotica is displayed. None have been listed in the adult section and the erotica has been photographed and shown in the listing.

Just what do you mean by "Does anyone have experience in this type of item?"

Pixiamom - I mean selling items like this.

Buyhigh that what I was beginning to think too. This really is a Japanese art form. This lady is carved wood with a wonderful patina - I say a pendant but I'm not sure. It's about the size of a quarter.

Your photo is a bit blurry so I cannot be certain but the pendant looks like a mask of The godess of mirth called Otafuko or Okame. A Chinese American friend calls her "fat face" I have a small collection of Japanese masks so I have had some experience in buying Japanese masks but nothing beyond that.

OK - if Ralphie is too shy to ask, I will. Can we have a pic of the naughty part? Enquiring minds want to know!

If she intends to list this pendant on Ebay, she will need to have a photo of the other side since that is what bidders will be buying. Maybe you can wait until it is listed.

Click on Ebay auction# 230039758859 and you will see why normal listing is all you require. Piximon may do so also.

Hey Guys
I do plan to redo the photos and will add one of the back but I had a computer melt down today so I'm on an old computer with slooow dial up. But, of course, that the least of my problems at the moment.
Thanks buyhigh, I think you identified her correctly. I'll check out that other auction 1st chance I get.

Told you the Japanese were big on this sort of thing. Dates back to ancient times. They used to make a series of scrolls made especially for newlyweds with what you could call pictorial instructions. These became family treasures passed down from generation to generation. Guess each culture views sex differently.
