Hi, all: I need to know what to call two little items I want to list. The first is a handled bowl, souvenir from the Suffolk County Courthouse, Crookston, Minnesota. It\'s 3\" high. Is it too small to be called a ewer? Should I call it a sugar bowl? Or?

The second is an Italian alabaster box that held powder and a powder puff, 4\" diameter, with hinged lid. Should I call it a powder box?? Is there a prettier name for it?

One correction you will want to do. Crookston is in Polk county. Minnesota doesn't have a suffolk county.

Thanks, Stone. I didn't see that clearly enough. Appreciate the help.

Still don't know what to call these things, though!

Whoever wants the bowl is probably more interested in the scene than the piece ... bowl sounds good to me -- save your keywords for Polk County. There is no doubt a better name for the powder jar, but it's doubtful that anyone is going to be searching for that word. Powder jar.

Thanks, birgittaw. I just checked in collectibles, and there's a whole sub-category called "powder jars," so that's where I'll list it.

So, with the Polk County courthouse, I'll use "bowl."
