Hello
We are looking to hire an eBay specialist. Looking for someone with a couple years experience in selling on eBay and some Amazon experience as well. We are located in the western Chicagoland area. We would like to find someone with Vendio experience if possible as thats what we currently use for our auction management system. We are a Titanium Powerseller. All emails/questions and resumes can be sent to [email protected].
Thanks in advance!
Ron

If this Ebay specialist is any good,I doubt if you can afford him/her.

I was looking for positive response. You get what you pay for. That is why we are posting on here. And YES we can afford them.

I think what Stop (aka hwahwa) means is that if someone who has a couple of years' experience is any good, they're making money running their own auctions.

We've seen this before. Typically companies are looking to hire eBay listers but don't want to pay more than $10-$15 an hour. I'd never work for that, not to mention that listing someone else's stuff is boring.

You might try contract labor or hiring temps. I've had good luck with that.

P.S. By the way, why the Gallery in your listings? Seems strange. Is anyone really going to make an impulse purchase of a box of toner? Each product in the marquee view is showcased for so short a time you can't read the type or model anyway.

If you go to Ebay and look up trading assistant in your city/state,you will find a list of sellers with their phone numbers.

I met a guy at Ebay live that staffed his drop off store with powersellers that wanted to be full time doing ebay and were only at the part time level. They were proud to be able to gain all their income through ebay related channels. He said he didn't have a hard time finding qualified people when he advertised for powersellers. I think you can find some qualified people if you look around imagewarehouse. Good luck!

I just updated my new website - give me your feedback on it.

fluff and hwa,

There is, however, a source of potential employees of that sort among the "semi-retired". I made my living off eBay for 3 years; not an eternity by comparison to others here, but long enough to get my chops and know my way around eBay, Vendio, etc.

For a variety of reasons, I sold my business. If imagewarehouse were local, if their product line were something that interested me, and if I felt that I could be proud to work for them, the exact level of pay would not necessarily be a gating factor. As it happens, they're not local and I'm not interested in printer cartridges, but perhaps I'd be proud to work for them, I don't know. In any case, there's a non-compete clause in my sales contract, so the issue is moot for me. The point is that they might possibly be able to get eBay-aware and Vendio-aware people who would be interested, and I can't blame them for asking, or necessarily predict failure for them either.

well said,cash!
There are many sellers on Ebay who lack good merchandise to sell so I can see them working for someone else to stay busy and get paid too!

Nah, it's way better than mine, and some people around here seemed to think it was okay to buy from me.

I was amused by this neutral comment, though:

Why the extra check out step with your own check out? ebay has their own

Reply by imagewarehouse: Because all major powersellers have to use a checkout

"Have to"?

It is quality of the neg ,not the quantity which matters!
Read some of the complaints on bad toner, empty cartridge ,missing expiration date etc etc

Wow! Its amazing to me how people turn a post looking for help into how bad a persons feedback is. Last I checked 99.4% is pretty good right? Why is it that this entire country would rather focus on the bad stuff than the good. You people are looking at the .6% that is bad. Ever wonder what Wal-Mart's feedback rating would be if they had one? The fact is that you cannot please everyone and you never will. We feel that 1% of our transactions will not be perfect. We dont want to be perfect. We are human and mistakes happen. And lets face it, this is eBay. People feel really high and mighty leaving negative feedback rather than contacting the seller first so they can make it right.
Now, getting back to the reason we posted this in first place. We are serious about hiring someone with alot of experience. We are not looking for a $10/hr person. If I wanted someone that was gonna be gone in 6 months I would have put an ad in the local papers or called a temp agency. We want someone that is passionate about eBay! That is why we posted here!!!
We want serious applicants!
We have a great business going here with a great supply line of product. We need some extra help to expand into other platforms such as Amazon, Overstock, and others. We are not just limited to eBay.
Thanks for your time and I look forward to serious applicants.
Ron

Ron, I imagine serious applicants will email you directly.

But relax. Already dozens if not hundreds of Vendio readers who'd never heard of imagewarehouse have checked out your auctions. I did.

Fluff I know. Just gets frustating when you work so hard sometimes only to have people focus on the bad.

Well...

You might want to approach your feedback from a different perspective...as a learning experience.

IOW, if many buyers seem to complain about the SAME THING, you might want to re-consider your wording in some of your listings, instead of viewing them as "dumb newbies" who "don't read"

The term "NEW", for most reasonably intelligent folks means just that: NEW!

If I bought a cartridge from a listing that had the term "NEW" in the title, I would expect the item to come SEALED IN ITS ORIGINAL PACKAGING -- and no amount of qualification in the listing would redeem receiving anything else...

Same thing with buying a "NEW" laser printer -- a "reasonable" person would expect the printer to arrive COMPLETE...If I received a "NEW" printer that arrived without DRUM & TONER, I would be...UNHAPPY

I don't comprehend that 80 some negs is something to ignore, but I would view it as a wake-up call...

Been there, done that, got the bumper sticker. Though you've amassed a lot of sales and overall feedback for someone who's been on eBay only a year. It took me four years to get to your feedback range.

I understand you're trying to grow the business quickly, which is why you need an eBay specialist. I'm guessing at least part of what you're selling is salvage, which is a good area to be in. I wouldn't want to be a catalog seller on eBay right now up against all the other catalog sellers.

Yep those stickers are cheap. I have been a powerseller on ebay for almost 9 years now. I just want to bring someone else in with experience if possible. We have found a niche that works great and we are not competing with 100s of other sellers by doing so. I have learned from my mistakes in the past an others too. Look at what happened to GlacierBay. I dont want to be them. We have a great thing going and we want to keep it going and we have a great team behind us too.
Ok now back to selling!

well I don't think I'd be advertising "LOOK AT MY FEEDBACK!" unless it's impeccable.

I'd suggest at the very LEAST that you get someone to leave professional neutral feedback.

That's one thing we learn over here with VD. You might want to say something snarky but sooner or later it comes back to bite you in the butt.

I'm sorry. What you said was...."Our feedback speaks for itself!!"

and...."You will be completely satisfied!! Just look at our feedback and the 1000's of satisfied customers!"

well if I was in your area I might apply, not a pseller but was once for 4 months. I would love the idea of having source of good products I didn't have to scounge up. Been comtemplating going to businesses to see if they wanted to part with overstock or what ever just have never done it. Might have to try that.

Good luck maybe you will find someone close by and that is good idea to search ebay seller assistant thing in your area, you never know might find someone like me out there.

Just a thought not a complaint, I was looking at some of your auctions and they are straight forward don't think I would have a problem with bidding on your auctions but as I was looking at your auctions on my laptop I had to scroll right to left back and forth probably because your images are so large. That could be rectified by if you are using vendio for image storage by choosing your options to show smaller image with link to larger view for those wanting to see enlarged image.

Don't know what you use to list I use SMPro and insert images from there. I am sure there is setting to fix your listings to use small images on auction page but I was not able to find that at moment. Just a thought to improve way people have to view your auction. If I was on my PC with large monitor probably would not notice the scroll problem? Anyway thought you might want to know. Or you could crop images cut out surrounding background stuff.
Edited to add your image adjusted same size items but background is gone by croping.. your original image is 1325 pixels by 881 pixels this image almost cuts it in half size taking out backgound surrounding it. It measures 790 pixels by 560 pixels and probably would stop a lot of scrolling to view text and everything for your buyers.
hope you don't mind my borrowing your auction image to show you what I am talking about.

No I dont mind you using my image. I appriciate the advice in a positive way. Others should take note of your professionalism. We put ads in the local papers but the response was not all that good. We just thought that going to the message boards would help us find one really good powerseller that would not need alot of training. I never meant for this to turn into other sellers beating up what I thought was good feedback. Thanks again for your advice and best of luck to you!

I just found place to set preference for showing small images on auction page with link in case you are wondering. It is on My account page Shipping and Insurance preferences at bottom says --(Automatically scale down large images for faster download and cleaner presentation.) I knew it was somewhere but never figured it to be on shipping and insurance page. Go figure.
