How do I scan three images at once?
I want to scan three postcards and then crop and save them. I can crop the image and save it and then undo the crop and crop the second one etc, but if I need to edit the cropped photo I lose the others.
Is there a way to scan three at a time and save all three?

Depends on your scanning software, which can integrate with Irfanview. What type of scanner do you have?

It is an Epson 2480 Photo scanner.
It allows me to scan several images at a time (by preview and then drawing the square around each one individually) but I don't know how to make Irfan recognize them. It only saves the first one.
So, I have been scanning all and cropping and undoing etc.

I access my scanner through Irfan view. I have 2 drivers for my Epson scanner, one for manual single scanning and one which can be manual or automatic - in automatic mode it will preview, detect edges of batch documents and type of documents, (text color, etc) scan and name them. I select the driver from Irfan and then select batch scanning, how to name them and where to put them. In acquire single image mode, you need to save each image as a .jpg file before scanning the next image. Edited to add, You can also scan the whole page as a single image - save it and then crop in Irfanview saving each crop as a new file, this is the way Neglus does it.

Thank you. I'll try and find the right driver file to allow me to do it the way you are doing it.
Right now, I am doing it the way Neglus does. But, I usually wind up adjusting the red on at least one and then the others aren't saved. I guess I should scan all of them and save them to file then go back and crop and save them the way I will be needing them.
I was trying to cut out the second step.
Thank you again for your help.

OK, couldn't make the multiple pix work (found something that would be you have to name each one and a screen pops up with all of them when it is through?) but I am getting them done the other way.
I feel rather silly for having tried to skip the step of saving the multi image scan first (thought it would save time to just crop and save and uncrop).
Sometimes it just takes a little nudge for us older folks brain to wake up to change. I haven't listed in any volume in over 2 years so it is like starting over for me.
Thank you again. Tell Neglus I hope she is having a wonderful vacation!

I use Epson TWAIN 5.571 for batch scanning. My other twain source is WIA Epson Perfection 610. You may need different ones with your model. Edited to add: you can check your Twain source (drivers) through Irfanview, under file>select Twain source

I have a Twain 5 5.54.
I'll give that a try. I'm just using the Epson perfection now.

That didn't work. It was for my old Epson 640 that broke. I went with a cheaper model this time around and it looks like it only has the one mode.
At least I'm saving them all now and can edit without losing them.

You should be able to batch scan through the scanner software. There is an online reference guide for your scanner here:
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Doc&oid=41623&prodoid=46048265&category=Products
They also have downloads of your scanners drivers. I downloaded the drivers for my scanner (I picked it up at Goodwill) and it works great.
