Has any one expereinced a delay in global priority or international mail to the UK? I thought I recall them being on a high terror alert or something in Europe but am not sure

Yes, I had an airmail 9 x 12 envelope (with customs declaration) delivered to the USPS on 9/11/06 and it finally arrived on 10/30. I had refunded the payment less postage by then. He is a regular customer and emailed that it finally arrived. Wanted me to re-bill him.
The explanation I got was that it was possible and inexperienced postal worker sent it on the slow boat. My PO gave me a stack of thier offical airmail stickers to use.

I Airmail stuff to the UK and Europe all the time and there isn't any holdup on their end. Any delays from the USA are likely caused by those nice people at Homeland Security.
Exported a bunch of CDs to the UK last week and most arrived at their destinations within 4 to 7 business days, depending on distance from major airports and postal clearing centres. London area were delivered in 4 days and Scotland lagged at 7 days or thereabouts. The record to date was 2 business days by Airmail - of course that's from NZ...

Have been seeing much slowness in international mail for a month or so, mostly Canada, UK and Australia, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the "arrival" countries. Averaging 3 WEEKS on parcel post AIRMAIL, same with about half of our global priority mail packages. Even a few Global EXPRESS packages have been taking up to 2 WEEKS to be delivered. Have to assume the problem is on the USPS dispatch end.

Had one delivered couple weeks ago finally after 8 weeks I had refunded and the guy finally got it and did a repayment and left glowing feedback. It was supposed to be Air mail to UK but apparently went slow boat or something as he said package was intact not opened and still glued like I do 99% of all my boxes. I had Air mail to UK on all sides of box do don't know what happened to it. Also tracking only showed my mailing it no other information or scans. PO no help either. Said international mail was out of their hands. Duh I was a little miffed at that explanation ..
