I've been using firefox and think I agree it's better than IE. One thing I can't seem to find out how do is make a shortcut? Is it called something else with firefox?

Like most other browers (except IE) it is called a Bookmark.

Are you referring to the desktop shortcut, Lady? the desktop icon goes on the screen with download, if you select that option.
Bookmark is at the top of the page. Organizing is different than IE, but efficient once you figure it out...
While we're talking Firefox, could someone please tell me how to get rid of the COOLIRIS feature?
With age and fading vision I use my mouse cursor to follow the lines on the computer. Those darn links keep popping up as I slide over them. Great if one doesn't have to use the cursor for a 'guide', but annoying when one does.

try "tools" "add-ons" and see if installed through there. If so - you can delete it through that.
Firefox – Within the browser, navigate to Tools—> Extensions—> Cooliris Previews vX.X and select ‘uninstall’
Internet Explorer – Navigate to Start—> Control Panel—> Add/Remove Programs—> Cooliris Previews

Lady
The create the Firefox desk-top shortcut got to:
Start->Programs->Mozilla Firefox->Mozilla Firefox extension and RIGHT CLICK. There you will find "Create Shortcut". LEFT CLICK on Shortcut.
Then back to Start, same process and drag and drop the newly created shortcut to your desktop.

Thanks Pat but I don't see anything that says extensions?
Guess I'll just bookmark everything for now and try again later.

Lady
When you go to START -> Programs -> Mozilla Firefox, your computer does not come up with another \"Mozilla Firefox\"?
The SECOND Mozilla Firefox is the one I was referring to as the \"extension\".
If you RIGHT CLICK on that 2nd Mozilla an options window will open and you can RIGHT CLICK the \"Create Shortcut\" option. Then you need to go in again, through the same path, and drop/drag the shortcut to the desktop.
If you DON\'T have an extension of your original Mozilla, try RIGHT CLICK on the original and see if that brings up the \"Options\" window.
Good Luck!

Pat I really appreciate your help but I don't think I have any extensions - I'll have to research all of this when I have more time - (pray you never crash your computer just before the Christmas shopping season begins like I did!!!).
I found a way to do it using the bookmarks -you just open up the bookmarks and drag and drop the one you need on your desktop. I can live with that.
Firefox looks like it's got a lot of cool things to offer so I'll get into all of soon - I'm sure I'll be back with more silly questions
