If it were my tie - I would put Hawaiian in the title - maybe nude as well.
I don't know about ties but this was the heyday of shirts from Hawaii.
You may consider double listing it in WWII or Hawaiian collectibles.

Thanks you two. I corrected the listing for spelling and to add both of those words. AFter listing the tie, someone sent me a message asking if I would consider a "buy it now" I don't usually sell things like this and got concerned.

I wouldn't do a buy it now on this neat tie...heres one kinda like it(scroll down the page) for 100.00 BUT its not sold so its most likely priced to high. I bet yours does well .

I wouldn't consider a BIN either - they are trying to steal it.
Toast that's a neat site - maybe not ebay prices but I think the guy must know his ties?? That's probably a fair market price.

1940s would have been rayon, not silk. Silk was a war material.

Thanks Fluff, I'll have to give it a second look. There is no mfg label on it. Maybe someone made it out of an old dress or skirt, shirt or something? Maybe? It sure looked like silk to me.

Rayon was developed to imitate silk and until the word "rayon" was coined, the fiber was known as artificial silk.

Anyone who buys vintage will be very familiar with rayon.
