SORRY...... I AM SCREAMING AT THIS DUH STUPID "CLIENT"
I had a set of early faience plates (6) and a platter listed 3 weeks ago. I listed then seperatly. A woman with 24 feedback bid on and won all of them. She writes and says yeah its my favorite thing ..I love it.. I'm so thrilled.... can you give me a rate on combined shipping? Each plate was listed with $9.95 shipping inc ins to cover. I boxed the set up, all 7 pieces... took it to the PO for an exact rate.... quoted her $18.45 plus ins to cover. Today, 2 weeks later I receive this from her EEECCCHHH (My claws are coming out!!!!)
"Are you not going to offer me combined (FYI-This means Discounted!) shipping? Standard Operating Procedure for quality E-Bayers who want repeat customers and not poor feedback. Kindly respond to my request for a Parcel Post Quote. The favour of a reply is considered S.O.P. for E-Bayers who observe good manners, repeat business,
and nothing other than positive feedback."
Now I ask you for a person who joined ebay in OCT of 06 with 24 feedbacks on low end items.... speaking to me a member since April 97 with over 1000 + feedbacks as a seller WHO THA HELL DOES SHE THINK SHE IS AND WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE'S DEALING WITH!!! I called her phone # and left a message and politely asked if the combined rate I had given her had not reached her inbox? If it were not several hundred dollars I would neg her and bloc her BITE ME!!!!
Thanks I needed that!

Reply kindly telling her that you did discounted her if she did the math $9.95 X 6 = $59.70.

As far as I am concerned, combined shipping does not mean discounted shipping. It means you put all the items together and charge whatever the postage is. When I have someone who complains about postage, I copy and paste the page where I looked up the postage rate. Just because someone bids on a bunch of your auctions, why should you take a loss on the postage?

Good thing you can vent here BJ. She sounds pretty snooty and probably is an ebay seller using a buyer id. I guess since several hundred $ are at stake it's probably best to assume that she didn't receive your email. Hope you get it straightened out and make sure you don't leave FB first! Maybe she is just trying to cover-up her late payment by putting the blame on you.

Thanks ladies I really did need to vent. Considering the postage as stated on each auction totaled $69.75 for the 7 pieces I was tickled that someone bought the whole set and it was one box not seven!
Mary Ann may I rot in hell if I post feedback FIRST!

She's a pretentious twit. "The favour of a reply", indeed. Cite her for using non-standard American English spelling in order to appear educated.
A couple of years ago I was selling some real estate. The agent I had retained to do it did a pee-poor job of marketing the place, so when the 90-day listing contract was up, I signed with a different agent. The original agent sent me a nasty how-can-you-do-this-to-me I'm-so-full-of-hurt-feelings email. My response to him was: "I'm going to pretend I didn't get your email because I'm certain you regretted sending it three seconds after it left your computer."
That's one approach I might take. Another is to simply ignore the email, don't acknowledge it in any way, and send her the total again. Then 48 hours later I would file NPB.

THE FINAL CHAPTER ANY ONE OF US COULD HAVE WRITTEN THIS ONE!
Well Theresa I really did just knew it... when I looked at your bidder page the other day I just knew this was going to happen. I said to myself,it is only a matter of time before I go to her feedback page and find neg's... next step... no longer a registered user. DAH DAH! I saw it coming...
The last thing I will ever say to you... This is most definitely NOT a game for me. My husband and I count on my ebay income to live ...to pay the bills.I bend over backwards at times to make people happy so I can pay my bills. I am VERY careful with the money I do make and NEVER bid on items or write checks at auctions ect that I can't cover.... Shame on you! SHAME ON YOU!!! I had to pay ebay to list that set and when they sold had to pay a final sale fee.... Thanks a heap!
For nothing but aggravation.....
Bonnie

Sorry for the disappointment, Bonnie. People stink. What can I say.
I've just declined a dozen Best Offers from a repeat buyer. She made it clear in email that she wouldn't honor the BOs if I accepted them, unless she got an additional $6 discounted off each one. Definitely unclear on the "Best Offer" concept.
People stink. It seems they stink more during the holidays.

Bonnie,
At least getting your FVF back should be automatic, as she's NARU. It's only a silver lining, but it's better than nothing.

I'll argue that 92% of customers smell great! (Very precise observation) Don't let the 8% ruin your day. The high point besides getting your fees back -- your instincts are right on. This one stunk from the inception.

Does sound like a whack job - wonder what she means by "first right of scruples bonus fee" - to you or to her?? I doubt that "sheer imbecility" would surprise her mother very much (never heard of 'Wessonality' - her last name?)

I would just respond "I gave you combined shipping", and be done with it.
I would bet she tries to get a shipping refund from every seller she buys from.

THE SET WAS WON LAST NIGHT BY A CLIENT IN KANSAS CITY... SHE PAID IMMEDIATLY W/PAYPAL. SINCE ITS ALL PACKED ANYWAY!!! ITS OFF TO THE PO THIS MORNING.
Thank you all for letting me growl and moan over this. Most of the time we all just do what comes naturally and sell, list, relist, post feedback positive or neg if we need ... this woman is nuts just and because of the amount of money involved I really didn't want to loose the fish if I didn't have to. I appriciate your imput... Kind Regards to all... BJB
