somebody in our local paper said "Don't be concerned about me, my pint of vodka, or my PlayStation gaming system. I just turned it on E-bay for $2,700."

They had run a picture in the paper showing them camped out in tents with I guess a bottle of Vodka showing.

oh f*. the sellers are selling Playstation email addresses. Makes it look kind of like you're buying a Playstation 3. Here's one (there's LOTS more):

Here is an article from the OC Register about a not so smart character.

Man attacked, robbed of two PlayStation 3 consoles
Two men posing as customers pepper sprayed a would-be seller in a late-night rendezvous outside a La Habra McDonald's.
By KIMBERLY EDDS
The Orange County Register

LA PALMA – Two customers who arranged a late-night rendezvous to buy two PlayStation 3 consoles pepper sprayed the would-be seller and stole the prized game systems outside a La Palma McDonald's early this morning.

The seller, whose name was not released, agreed to meet the men about 1:40 a.m. at the McDonalds on Orangethorpe Avenue and Moody Street, La Palma police Sgt. Raul Morales said.

Before any money was exchanged, one man pepper sprayed the seller and the pair took off with the consoles, Morales said.

The attackers arranged to meet their victim at the McDonald's after answering his ad on the Internet.

"The victim felt uncomfortable about meeting them there, but he did it anyway," Morales said.

The highly anticipated game systems, which were released in limited quantities last week, retail for about $600. The seller was asking $5,000 for both units.

The suspects are described as Asian men in their 20s with black hair, slight builds and weighing 130 pounds.

The PlayStation 3 promises the best video-game visuals on the planet. Its release has led to hundreds of people waiting in lines for days, armed robberies, and a rash of fights across the country. A 21-year-old Connecticut man was shot while waiting in line to buy one of the consoles Thursday."

reminds me of last year when these scumbag scammers were selling a picture of the IBOX 360 instead of the game itself.

The only reason most people are standing in line to buy PlayStation 3 is so that can sell them on eBay...
