Great!
Now I can relist all those auctions that didn't sell on the 10 cent fixed price listing day.
Hope springs eternal!

Pat - the time you can start auctions is one day. They can be the normal durations.

Thanks for posting, Deur (and for the phone call, Neglus). My dilemma of replacing listings ending tomorrow with new lists or relists is solved. Relist it is - I'll be able to take most of the day off!

Traffic appears to be down. Go to the thread - What's wrong with this picture? - and check out traffic compared to other years.

I don't know about other categories, but listings are way down in my category. Normally, at this time of year, there would be 30,000-35,000 listings, but as of today, there are only 7,300.

Diane, mine are the same. I know that your category is crochet, mine is knitting, but even though the listings are down, for me the bids are down even more.

This is not a good day for me to try to list!!

I got up real early to start listing- I managed 5 listings.
Then the site SLOWED to a crawl.

AND , before dark today, I will have company arrive for the week. The house is a mess.

I guess I will have to just pass on this special

Good luck to everyone

I saw on CNBC that analyst are looking at the number of listings on Ebay, not sell through to determine their ratings. Based on total listings, which are up year over year, the analysts are giving Ebay a BUY rating. This may be the reason for so many discounted listing days to inflate the value of the stock based on listings.

Analysts aren't worried about eBay sellers making money, they are concerned with eBay making money. My fees are way up so they must be very happy.

The listing period for this special also covers the Thanksgiving holidays when many are "out of town" or too busy to list or bid. Should expect that Ebay is just boosting their numbers in what would otherwise be a very slow time. Besides they can pick up not only all those exra 20 cents but those extra 35 cents for gallery photos that everyone now has to have

I've never taken advantage of one of those special listing days in eBay. Are we sure that listing through Vendio will get us the 20-cent special. The announcement did say "most third-party listings," and I'm assuming that means Vendio, but just checking. I'd like to try it this time.

There was a much better 10p listing day on eBay.co.uk last Monday since you can list for 10 days since there's no surcharge. Already sold around 25% of what I listed (mostly to European buyers) and have several offers coming in every day. I did Fixed Price listings with Best Offer and most of the offers have been within my target range so I've accepted a few.

I suspect I'll upsell a few more items to those buyers as I often include a small gift with my larger orders. The gift is one of a limited set of six and I get around three out of four customers buying the other five in the set. (The ones I give away as gifts cost me nothing - they are from incomplete or damaged sets.)
