Does anyone recognize this type of vase? Etched on the bottom is what looks like the name "Cousin" and "1989 L.t" and "Evargo84 86/200". The vase is a turquoise glass with deep etched designs on the outside...These designs SORT OF look like stylized marine animals or they might just be a modern design. Does this kind of etching of the design have a specific name? Thanks for any help. I have a feeling this vase might be worth something but would like to know more about it. Thanks and Happy Day-After-Thanksgiving!

Don't know what type of glass this is, but it is beautiful. The clear glass areas seem to form palm fronds.

I sell items on consignment from friends/relatives and get a wide variety of items. There's absolutely no way I can even be a "semi-expert" on all that I get from my consignees. Identifying items becomes a real challenge when the writing/name/brand is illegible. In the past, I've found folks on this board to be extremely generous with their expertise and talents and I'm always grateful for their help. As a matter of fact, I have contributed information to fellow sellers on this board...some of the information I knew personally, some I learned on this board and some I learned by research. If anyone wants to know about Delft pottery, let me know as I lived in the Netherlands for 14 years. So, thanks again to the helpful and generous people who populate this board. And Happy Holidays to you Fluffy.

It can be acid etched or sandblasted with silica sand. If it is surface etched then it might be acid etched or sand blasted but if it appears more 2 dimensional then it most like is sandblasted as the higher the PSI in blasting the deeper the groove.

Thanks, all....and thanks, Mama...I think sand-blasted etching is what I was looking for. From your description, I think that's what it is. Sure do wish I could read the etched name/info on the bottom...imagine that would be VERY helpful in doing research...Thanks for the help.

The 86/200 leads me to believe it is a limited edition vase (possibly made in 1989)from a glass artist rather than a mass produced piece. It is beautiful but I am not familiar with the artist, sorry I am no more help.

I've never thought asking for help was "taking shameless advantage"...I'm always the first to admit my ignorance. I know how to use search engines and do so frequently. I've just found that searching for "pretty glass vase" (in this instance, for example) doesn't result in a whole lot of useful information. And, again, in this case, tried googling every possible spelling of the artist's name but found nothing. That being said, it's too nice a day here to get into any more justifications...and I'll continue to be grateful for folks who share. Happy Day...and GO POKES! (People in Oklahoma will know what I'm talking about...)
