OK, OK, I know it's been asked before but I can't find the answer on ebay.

What percent of negatives does it take to get a seller kicked off ebay?

I tried to buy a new book earlier...must've got two "drop ship" sellers because the negs were mostly slow/no ship. But SIXTEEN negs for one ! ....%96.3 !!!!

And why do people continue to buy from these creeps???

Back to my search for a decent seller...

I don't think it matters how many negatives - it's violations that get you kicked.
Why don't you shop by FB % - it would save you time?

I looked for something like feedback % to eliminate the losers but couldn't find it...I'll try again.
Thank you.

I can't find it now either, but it's somewhere. I'm not a buyer very often. Hopefully whoever posted this before will come back and let you know.

I was browsing to buy a cell phone last week, and came across a buyer with 76 negs this month, and over 1,200 for the year. A drop shipper I am sure, but there is no way I would buy from a seller with that many negs, but a lot of people are still buying from them.

That's my point! What's this guy selling...drugs???

89% doesn't get you kicked off ebay?

People are spending that kind of money in the HOPES that they get the item??

This seller brings in so much money for ebay they are willing to harbor crooks?

Ya, ya, I know, the bigger the corporation the more corrupt it will be...good ol' U.S. of A.

He sells everything (a liquidation center) and he has 21,000 AUCTIONS(no fixed price) running right now. Actually, his negs this month are less than 2% of his positives.

must be Bargainland Liquidators or something like that-they're a disgrace.I come upon their auctions everyone once in awhile. Its not just from non delivery,a lot of times even when you do get the item,it doesnt work.It amazes me why anyone would buy from these people.

As far as I know,to get kicked off you have to have a -2 feedback and then only if you are reported. In other words, if you have 10 positives, you need 12 negatives to get kicked off. Three unique DUI's will get a buyer kicked off.

"Three unique DUI's will get a buyer kicked off."

Many intelligent people who are not eBay savvy equate the feedback with the old grading system: 90-100% excellent 80-90% good 70-80% Fair etc. My cousin was very disappointed after buying ski equipment from a seller with 92% feedback, which he considered was in the excellent range.

slightly OT...
can anyone remember the link to report a -2fb bidder?
I have a newbie I just negged bringing them to -2 but they are not falling into the NARU zone ~ I remember that happening before and I had to send the info through safe harbor but can't find the correct info to report it.
Do I need to send it through powersellers?
TIA!

It's hard to believe but a (-2) is not quite crappy enough to warrant reporting.

I can't find the official ruling (eBay is too damn good at hiding things) but this is from a Pink-pinned (and presumably Pink-approved) FAQ thread at the top of the Feedback Board.

"Question: How many negative comments can a person have before ebay will suspend them?

Answer: Negative feedback alone is usually not enough to result in a user's suspension.
It takes formal complaints filed through ebay for non-payment or fraud to have a user suspended. Ebay will suspend a user when their rating reaches (-4) "

So, you can be an idiot times FOUR before the gang finally believes that you may be a liability on eBay.

It boggles me wittle mind, it do.

http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?threadID=410219594&tstart=0&mod=1090647722903

Edited to add:

From the same thread:

"Question: Why are sellers with lots of negative feedback still actively selling?
Answer: If there are many negative comments complaining that buyers did not receive
their items, or that the items were misrepresented, it may mean that buyers are
leaving negative feedback without filing a Fraud Report/Claim and/or the seller for nonperformance
Negative feedback alone will not result in a user's suspension unless their overall rating reaches (-4)."

Let's blame it on the buyers for not filing reports.

I was wondering that myself. I mean we get even one negative and I am doing my best to get it cleared up. But let's all face it there are some buyers you just cant please no matter what. I had a creep from Canada..absolutely impossible to deal with.

wow ~ used to be that a neg2 got them booted.
They're at -3 now, so hopefully they will fall off the system before they start negging sellers. They won about 70 items in the past two weeks!

Zoomin, you could report them anyway. If they have recently signed up and appear to be sport bidding and not paying they may still be booted even if their overall feedback is "only" (-3).

Keyword is MAY but it's worth a shot.

thanks Zippy.
I reported in through powersellers ~ no direct link for it in 'problems with buyers' but hopefully it will get this guy pulled!
thanks again!

There is NO percentage that will get you kicked off. Negatives has absolutely nothing to do with it.

What gets you kicked off is having 3 FVF's filed against you within any 18 month period.

As a seller, you need to have been found violating ebay's listing policies on many different occasions.

Back to my search for a decent seller...

Guess that eliminates you, cowfarm.

The top 4 ebay sellers are actually all the same company. Combined, they have over 30,000 negs, and an overall 98.2% positive feedback rating.

everydaysource 8388 negs
accstation 7651 negs
eforcity 7850 negs
itrimming 7914 negs

My guess is that 2% negs is an adequate neg threshold for ebay, and total negs doesn't really matter.

30,000 negs? damn-ya gotta wonder how long Sears would be in business if they had 30,000 complaints...

I bet Sears and Wal-Mart handle that many complaints in a year...

They have entire departments to handle them... and, the business model is a bit different.

However, someone in my family worked at a Sears store in the 1970s and they told of how people would bring in items purchased from other stores - clearly marked with the other stores' brands on them - and Sears would just give them credit to make another purchase... and then there were those who would bring in USED socks and get a replacement pair... So, maybe they wouldn't have 30k complaints because they just "bent over" when anyone asked?

I bet if you asked someone at a Wal-Mart about the antics people pull, you'd probably get a new perspective of why a "virtual" store of any kind is still much better - despite the "once-in-awhile whacko" you have to deal with.

hmmmmmm? Makes you think, doesn't it?

In the "Real World" most companies are thrilled if they have a 98% positive consumer satisfaction rating.

Wanna see some negs? Take a look at hospital ratings sometime.
