Is anyone else having trouble with the USPS JERSEY CITY, NJ 07097 facility? I now have two packages that have gone to that facility and have both "mysteriously" disappeared. They find the lables but none of our products have been located. This is extremely frustrating. Not to mention the total lack of help you receive when you call there.

The only thing I've noticed is how long it's taking for packages to get anywhere. 14 days to Ontario from Cleveland sent Global Priority. Eight days from Cleveland to Colorado via First Class. It never takes that long. Just think, the rates increase shortly.

I can always expect mail to New York City from California to be slow (once had a first class package take a month).

well the crazy thing is when you call and say something they act like it is the BIGGEST annoyance ever. Well excuse me but I paid for a package to be delivered not STOLEN! This is two in a row and when I talked to the supervisor over there he said this is not the first complaint he has had recently. Do you think he offered to look into it? Nope he acted like I was annoying him. Could it be incompetant management? I think so!

Mailed a book Media mail on December 13. I told the buyer that delivery by Christmas would be more likely if she payed for Priority. She was sure that Media would be fine. The DC number shows it went from my post office to the hub (not NJ but Maryland) on the 14th then nothing. Grumble, grumble, I told her Media mail was not a good idea.

Now that I think about it NJ is really close. I wonder....

The Postal Service does take pilfering complaints seriously. You need to retain whatever portion of the package was actually received.

If your local station management is not giving you satisfaction, escalate it until you get someone's attention. Believe me, they're not going to come asking you questions; you have to pursue it with them.

I would talk to that supervisor again and mention you'll be discussing it with his boss, too.

just wondering, digital, were the package shipped on the 27th or 28th?
Having HUGE issues (missing four packages right now) for items shipped out of FL those days.
I typically have two packages a year fall into the postal black hole but they find their way in a few weeks ~ it's been three weeks and there is no record of d/c on any of the four packages.

Yes we were having that issue as well. We ship from Tampa and somehow we dont get any scans until Jacksonville or even their arrival scan! We ship hundreds of packages a month and I am not sure when the issue was starting to concern me, but FL USPS is about as pathetic as NJ. It is a concern. I am discussing it with the boss to see if we can cut out USPS shipping all together. The headaches just aren't worth it to me! Not to mention we are losing money every time we have to refund because of their error.

I ship about 250 packages a month via USPS priority mail for the last six or seven years.
I have only had about a dozen packages go AWOL in that time and that is being generous with the number (I know you won't believe this but sometimes bidders lie about a package not arriving.)
ALL items get d/c now so the claims of missing packages has dropped significantly for me!

I use USPS exclusive, mainly priority and first class. Parcel post is a joke, only a few cents less than priority unless it is very heavy and going coast to coast. I have only had 2 packages go AWOL. One I put into the self service box. It was for a small amount and I did not have DC. The other was insured and had DC, DC said it was delivered, but no insurance signature( insured for $100). I let my customer duke it out with the PO since I could not swear that it had not been delivered. Haven't heard anything in a long time, so the customer was either paid, the package appeared or the customer was scamming from the beginning. The bad part is even if the PO pays for the item through insurance, you do not get your insurance or postal fees back, so you have no item and in some cases are out quite a few dollars.

oh the whole situation is just crazy. We are getting away from them altogether. On my personal accounts I do use them quite a bit but on this level it is hardly worth the risk.
