This is nothing new between the two. One will close in a country and recommend the other. Ebay did the same thing when it closed their Japan site and will likely do something similar when it closes their China site.

Yahoo closed down in Canada several years ago. I used to do really well on Yahoo and had a lot of regular buyers.
