I thought I'd search for a couple of things I need on ebay. Very few items in auction are listed in search but MANY store items are listed! I tried this for about 4 items that I am looking for and got the same result. I am using a regular search for title and description and checked the box for: All items including Store Inventory Items
Is it because of the day of the week ? After holiday thing? or just ebay?
Any ideas?

Depending on which eBay site it's either:
a) another eBay glitch, or
b) a dearth of regular eBay auction listing.
Take your pick.

I am looking at the U.S. site. Maybe it is the time of year, after holidays or something. I just thought it was strange. More store items were showing up than auctions. (Which is great for store sellers) Then recent norm has been the opposite

One thing I noticed, usually my postcard searches are littered with UK listings, especially after a reduced price listing day. Now they don't show up when I search in the general category Postcards & Paper - I only find them when I search All categories

In a recent thread I started about a poblem I was having with eBay UK someone mentioned that the UK listings don't show if you do a category specific search. This was what I was doing for one type of collectibles because there are thousand of items that use the same words that have nothing to do with what I am looking for. If you do a search for all categories I think you will see a breakdown in the left column that says how many were found in each category and if you click on that you should see just those hits.

Photo- I was the one that posted that. I believe that when you click on the left categories you lose many UK listings.

Is it possible that the item you are looking for don't have many auction listings? If so, then store items will fill in the rest of the search.
