I list all of my auctions through Vendio and would like for my shipping charges to show up in an Ebay search list. I've tried to make a revision, but it doesn't have an area to insert the shipping through Ebay. Am I missing something or can this just not be done when an auction is launched through Vendio?
I think it would be helpful for potential buyers to be able to see my shipping charge instead of it saying "See item description". I know when I'm buying an item, I scroll down the list and compare shipping charges because people really do over charge for shipping!
Thanks for your help with this!

This should be posted in the Vendio Services section, so that Customer Service can give you the old, "I'll pass along your request to our product manager."

I have been going to ebay to revise each listing so that my items do not display the "see item description." I have been doing this for over three months.

I believe Vendio is the only "eBay Certified Solutions Provider" which does not have their shipping functions updated to match ebay shipping. Myabe you should also write ebay.

Anyway, for Vendio, go to: - Community - Vendio Services - Sales Manager Merchandising Edition and Image Hosting - post the same request there.

you have to go into Ebay and manually edit your auction. it's something like enter your own HTML and there should be a shipping section that you can edit there and put your shipping cost in.

it's not strictly a VD thing although they should have already addressed this problem. it's right up there with the international shipping programming they're falling down on.

it's one of the pitfalls of having VD.

I have no problem at all with putting shipping in through Vendio. There is a section 'Shipping and Handling' where you plunk in either fixed or calculated shipping and even a place to add handling. It has been there a long time for me, I don't remember what I did to make it appear, more help anyone?

pmelcher - I use the functions that you write about with each of my listings from Vendio. I assume you are referring to International shipping, in which you would have two separate rates - one for Canada and one for Worldwide.

When you use two separate shipping rates, which you should, because it costs less to ship to Canada, the higher rate would show for Canadians, rather than the lower rate.

That was what msanders was explaining to us.

If you were to use "calculated shipping," which I believe pmelcher was noting, there is no problem. Unfortunately, not all of us can or want to use "calculated shipping."

glassgrl is correct that you have to revise each item so as to display International s/h fees. Simply go to item on ebay, sign in, open revise, scroll down to "payments & shipping" and open the links you need in the International section.

I was told that the only two services which were not updated were Andale and Vendio. Since Andale is puportedly updated, it appears that Vendio remains the lone duck.

Just go to ebay and bulk edit your shipping costs. If it is the same shipping for all or many of the items, you should be able to do it fairly quickly.

Thank you all for your assistance.

kozersky - I can feel your frustration in having to individually revise each listing on Ebay. I figured out today that it had to be done manually. And it cannot be done if the auction has a bid or has less than 12 hours remaining. The process is quite time-consuming.

pmelcher - I do list the shipping fee on my Vendio auction listing. But it doesn't integrate with Ebay to list the shipping charge when a buyer does a search and has several of the same item from which to choose.

I don't want to get into calculated shipping with a book that will sell for less than $10. It would take too much time to weigh them all, so I estimate a flat rate. I don't ship internationally, so that's not the problem. I just hoped I was missing something somewhere, but it sounds like it must be done manually.

Thanks again!

msanders - I thought I would check to be sure we are writing about International shipping, not Domestic shipping.

While the International shipping functions are not compatible, there should be no problem with Domestic shipping. Are you having difficulty posting Domestic shipping flat rates?

she's talking about when you do a search and the shipping cost shows up in the search/listing page. I myself have not listed many auctions but the ones I did - did not show up in Ebay's search showing the shipping cost.

It shows "not specified" or "see description" UNLESS I manually go in and edit the auction. This is NOT for international - it's for ALL auctions!

Am I missing something here?

Sorry to cause so much confusion, but I'm talking about domestic shipping only. No international shipping for me!

kozersky - yes, it's domestic shipping I enter into Vendio but would like shipping charge to show up automatically in my Ebay listing once auction is launched.

You need to go into your setting at Vendio and set up to show shipping cost, it is there somewhere I did it several years ago. Also at Ebay I think there is also a place to put a mark into show shipping charges but I can't remember where that is. Mine always show up either thru Vendio listing or SMpro. But you have to set preferences. I do flat rate shipping and put all my shipping in other or the blank space to not commit to any one type shipping.

msanders, irked is correct. You can set preferences in "My Account" which is at the top right of this page. Go to "Global Preferences." However this will not fix those which you have set up and may want to relist.

Here is what you do. When you are on the item page in Sales Manager, go to the "Shipping & Handling" section. Under "Shipping Carriers" select and check the boxes for - USPS First Class Mail(fixed)- or - Media Mail (fixed)- or Parcel Post (fixed), then put in your price for flat rate shipping (s/h). Same goes for Priority Mail, and Express Mail. These selections will show up in your listing as Domestic Shipping and will also show on ebay.

Now the info I have given is for the SMMIE. If you have other, I am sure someone here can help you.

koz and irked. I have my shipping cost listed like you stated. BUT THEY DON'T SHOW UP IN THE SEARCH PAGE with the shipping cost. Sure - they show up in your auction with the shipping cost BUT NOT ON THE SEARCH PAGE!

In order for my shipping cost to show up on the Ebay search page I have to manually edit each auction after I've listed it with Ebay.

So what am I paying VD for anyway? Kinda of makes you wonder.

glassgrl, there is something that you are missing.

I just listed 3 items and my domestic shipping is OK. I still have to revise the items for International shipping as those amounts are wrong at the specific sites.

Mine show the shipping fee in eBay search results page without problem. I use Vendio profiles to list and had to edit each profile to specify carrier, location and shipping cost. I don't think you can bulk edit shipping in eBay. When I had to revise eBay listings, I found the quickest way was to look for eBay's recommendations at the top of the revision page and clicked on 'specify shipping charges'.

go to My Account here at Vendio, Global Preferences, put check in all 3 boxes on seller preferences that is window thatopened up for me ---

1. Display Shipping and Handling options and Custom Shipping Note in listing.

A. Include a Shipping Calculator in listing whenever calculated shipping options are displayed.

B. Include Insurance information in listing.

Choose the dafault shipping you want to show then you can enter those amounts according to what you want on individual auctions. I do it simple choose blank one put Flat rate lower 48 states leave it blank and fill in at listing time.

Fill in the rest of the page with appropriate information like the insurance etc. all way to end of page and then save the settings.

I still believe there is a place at ebay that you fill in a preference too. could not find it though sorry. but try above first.
