The article states that new sellers may ONLY accept PayPal and credit cards and CANNOT accept bank transfers, personal checks, etc. This doesn't match Bill Cobb's announcement. Also, the report about 20 cent listing day (down from 30 cents to 20 cents per day?) is wrong and a bit confusing...

I think you may have mis-read the article.

It says that new sellers must accept PayPal and/or credit card payments. It did not say that they cannot accept checks or money orders, however it also doesn't say that they can accept that kind of payments either.

It does mis-lead people on the price of listing fees though. They use the example of someone who lists junk at less than a dollar for their regular prices.

Nope... she didn't misread it... the article's actually been edited and updated. Someone else must have noticed the same mistake!

wOW! I read it earlier and Pixia was right! I sent in a "comment" correcting the article - they must read the comments!

I also suggested they clear up the part about 20 cent listing fees but that's still there.

I think the whole premise of the article is wrong - ebay well may be worried about Google but I don't think these particular actions are in response to that worry.

I guess I must have read it after the corrections.

Do we need more new sellers that sell junk or .99 cent auctions. This may stop a few of them before they start.
