I just got another one of those spoof emails that is supposed to look like it came from ebay, blah, blah, blah. Usually it is someone who is interested in buying something or at least that is what is in the email, but this one says:
according to ebay you are using my email address for your log in, and there has been a dispute opened on you in reguards to item number 220028603240. You need to change your address now!. Stop using my email address or i will sue you.
Of course, the auction # is NOT mine nor am I a bidder! I always send these into [email protected] but I wonder if they have ever done anything about any of them. Does anyone know of or ever heard of these people getting in trouble?

Never hear a thing beyond the canned response. I am sure the website if any is shut down quickly as those hosting places do not want to be sued by ebay. But as far as catching anyone I have never heard of any and most are operating out of Russia or some such place so the good ole USA can't prosecute them so well even if they caught the creep..
