Hi Neglus, Ebay is acting a bit funny this morning. I can't right click on anything. Have you done the obvious? Delete cookies and reboot.
BTW, DH is receiving emails from this thread to educate him about the fun things people do to steal your account info. He saw your store name and wanted to know why Moody Mommy's Marvelous Postcards was not Moody Mommy's Marvelous Mailables, lol.

LOL Ray - never thought of "Mailables" - love that alliteration!
I think the "catch" with your phone guy is that he is selling phones with plans attached (you are buying the free phones you get when sign up or extend contract)- that was on his "Me" page
Ed to add: I finally shut down everything, pulled the power plugs on my cable and router and then reconnected them, rebooted and got on ebay with no problems (cross fingers)

I saw his ME page. What makes me suspicious is the 773 auctions and no feedback from any of them.
Also, his buyer ID is old , has low feedback and all of a sudden he runs 700 auctions?
What made me really start looking at the listings was that as my husband was surfing for cell phones (sounds like a Jerry Lewis telethon), I received a spoof from PayPal saying that I had just paid someone $400 for a cellphone. Of course the email was bogus but one I had not seen before. I asked DH if he had been clicking links inside of auctions. He had. I asked him to show me some of the auctions he was looking at.
Sure enough, many of them look suspiciously like stolen accounts. At minimum , I suspect email harvesting. Worst case, many of these listings may be stealing CC info when they say they need the info to process your new phone contract.

Morning all,
Isn't this person in major violation of Ebay's rules of posting a website on listing page.

just for grins, I thought I'd try to report it. What a freakin' run around! Live Help gives you so many "links" that don't apply to anything. when you think you've found the correct link, they ask for the item numbers only. Can't list an id only. I can't believe it.
I was told to go to the bottom of the above page and click on LIVE HELP. You DO get someone there who says that they will forward it on to the correct people. Whatever. I wonder if anything ever gets done. I've wasted my alloted time. Now I need to get back to work

It looks like this guy is selling service contracts for Cingular. The phone is 99 cents when you sign up for service. I don't know as you are allowed to do this on eBay!! He can buy this, but he'll have to sign up for two years of Cingular service. You're better off going on CIngular's web site.

Ask your DH this question, "does a new cell phone for 99¢ sound too good to be true"? If he answers no - smack him around the head and repeat the question. If however he answers yes - pat him on the head. You'll soon get him trained.
You'll probably need to repeat this behaviour modification treatment every time he admits to clicking on links in spoof eBay or PayPal messages. You need to spoon feed him to type in the url or use the saved bookmark. Also a good browser like FireFox will usually warn when entering a 'phishing' or dubious website.

Teh seller is requiring you to buy a service contract to get the item. I'm pretty sure that is against ebay policy.
