Hackers are amazing aren't they? The way their brain functions and the high level of intelligence it takes to pull something like this off. I would bet just about anything that he is around 17 years old or younger. I had gone to school with a couple of really good hackers, being a computer geek myself I knew them well, they used to have what they call "hacker wars". In a hacker war the two hackers try to infiltrate high end systems as far as they can. You know like federal stuff or big name sites (ebay for instance would be a good choice) and then they would back back out once they got far enough in. Amazing really. Terrifying yes but amazing!!

THE REALLY SAD THING IN THE STORY IS THAT E-BAY HAS RESTRICTED SALES IN THE CATEGORIES MENTIONED. THEY ARE KEEPING IT SECRET AS TO WHAT.
THIS MEANS THAT IF YOU SELL IN THESE AREAS YOU WILL BE SELLING TO THE WIND AS THEY WILL TAKE YOUR BID AND IT WILL NEVER BE INDEXED.
THIS HAS BEEN A BIG ISSUE OVER ON THE TEC BOARD AT E-BAY AS SOMEONE THERE (A LEGIT SELLER) FOUND OUT THAT HIS 5000 ITEMS Had NOT BEEN SEEN FOR MONTHS. HIS INFRACTION WAS A MIS-SPELLED WORD IN HIS PERMANENT SCRIPT OF HIS BID PROGRAM THAT AFTER SPELL CHECK CHANGED THE WORD SHIP<= THIS LETTER.
EACH TIME HE LISTED ITEMS THEY ACCEPTED THEM SHOWED THEM IN HIS MY EBAY AND THAT WAS IT! HE GOT SOME SALES FROM REGULARS STOPPING AND SEEING THINGS BUT NO OUT SIDE SALES. HE RATTED THEM OUT AND HE GOT BACK LISTING FEES BUT IT'S HIS FAULT NOT E-BAY AS THEY FOUND IT WHY DID HE NOT FIND THIS SECRET ISSUE. (NEVER MENTIONED TO HIM)
I MENTION THIS BECAUSE I HAVE HEARD FROM SELLERS HERE AND THERE THAT THEY THINK THAT THERE ITEMS ARE NOT OUT THERE BEING SEEN. WITH THIS TIDBIT OF SHIP WE NOW SEE THAT THEY JUST DON'T SHOW YOUR ITEMS IF THEY DON'T LIKE THEM THAT WAY THEY CAN GET THE MONEY AND NOT BE HASSLED TRYING TO GET YOU TO FIX SOME ISSUE.
THEY CAN NOT COME UP WITH A CLASS ACTION SOON ENOUGH FOR THIS GROUP. HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE THEY HURT DOING THIS KIND OF STUFF!

It was early the other day when i wrote the message.
To prevent or reduce the hacking situation e-bay wants to restrict the ability of seller/buyers to sell or buy from one country to another.
And on the tec board at e-bay they (sellers) uncovered that their items are being not being sold because e-bay has hid their listings and restricted them to be seen only if you knew the exact item number as you are seeing them in the my e-bay section.
this was because some particular listings had some issues with e-bay so they just did not index them.
One person had 1000's of bids restricted because he had misspelled a word that became less favorable after spell check changed them. They just did not index the listings for weeks rather than alert this person to make some changes.
I mentioned this because this has been a process they have used to keep these ads from showing and with this new cross boarders thing they are saying they will not even let you know what items they are targeting. so you may be listing items to sell to someone outside the country and they (buyers) will never even know it is for sale as it is being hidden from view.
